Some of my outdoor plant pots have saucers attached, so after a rain I use this cord to wick water out of the saucers so the plant roots don't drown, and it works great! All of my pots are on stands, and it wicks the water right down to the ground. I've also found that it works very well for tying my tomato plants to stakes. It is nice and soft and thick and doesn't damage the stems. I couldn't be happier with this product!

This is will be great your plants will love you for the bottom watering I will take pictures I haven't used soil I found out that using coco coir or Eco earth which is a reptile habitat substrate type but it is still good for using it as a soil it is much better and very lightweight and not heavy unlike soil is it is very dense and never fully dries out but if you do this you need to do this slowly because it will shock your plants if you have fungus Gnats which are a real bitch to get rid of but you have animals and can't use neem oil or any other chemicals this process is safer and safer for all your pets I don't care what what anyone else says it will work with all plants flowers ect you must put your plants with no soil in some type of mason jar but make sure you get all the old soil out that it is fine if you you can't is long as it is mostly gone by rinsing it off once you do this fill the mason jar just above the top of the roots it will not hut your your plants and or indoor plants you may have to put them In a big narrow pot just enough room for the roots to fit in it or the wide mouth mason jars and put the bigger plants with bigger roots and wait a couple weeks to do these transfers I know it may seem long but the longer you wait the more chances you can get the old soil out from in-between the roots and then put the eco and coco coir now they do come in bricks Evo has 4 big bricks you can get that at the pet store innthecreptike habait area you will end up using most of it you need to let the eco and coco coir dry out completely for this to work it will give your plants time to relax and to get rid of like I said the old soil and along with the containmanted soil you need to use regular water from your hose or a water bottles and wholilecyiu are waiting you can get a sqewer for kabobs and you can take one of them and get in between the roots and push that old nasty soil out use with clean water to rinse as you doing that whatever you do please do not use anything from a soft water system that takes salt it will kill your plants but you need to let your plants adjest in clear mason jars something stable for the plants so you can see what is going on and don’t be scared to add water just enough to cover the roots so you can drown the fungus gnats also clean the water daily or every couple days I know it is a process but this is egatvit will take to get rid of the fungus gnats and white flies and anything else yiu hit going on you can get your entire plant wet and just get a very soft cloth and wipe tge leave off top and underneath very well where the but the mainly where the infestation started which are the roots and then keep doing this process it can take up to a couple of weeks to even a month but I let mine take a long time I waited 2 months it took me that long because I was giving them time to spread out to get rid of the old soil the eco and coco coir make sure it is covered with a good mesh screan almost that kind of mesh for when you are cooking to keep stuff from splattering out to make sure no bugs get in it while it is drying out unless you got a room that it can go in indoors that will be fine aswell it will take awhile but these are the process we got to do to save our plants I really do need to make me a youtube channel so I can give more advice on plant care but I had the worst infestation and now they are gone no more fungus Gnats DO NOT EVER BUY SOIL FUNGUS GNATS are already in it only because its a breading ground and it is constantly wet they love Wet environments

I was a little bit skeptical that this would work, but glad it did. I was going to be starting some seeds but be gone for a week or so before transplanting. I cut some of this rope and threaded is through a hole in the container I would put the seed in before adding the soil and the seed. Had enough hanging at the bottom to put it in a large water reservoir. I did this with 3 pots. All plants survived, so it worked. I transplanted 2 and have 1 to go. I hoped I could reuse the rope but it doesn't look that way. But, still have lots left. I maybe used over 1 ft per plant but probably could have gotten away with less.

I was hesitant to try this, but so far it is working well. Not sure how it will do in extreme heat. My plants I used it on looked healthier than those I didn’t. Pretty easy to set up.

Works as it should. Used this in a concrete pour combined with brick that was designed to water internally and come out the flashing at the bottom, but we could not incorporate the flashing. So I used tubes on the inside of the poor to match up with the brick and I wrapped the tubes With this wicking material and let the wick hang out the bottom where flashing would’ve normally been placed. It works perfectly. Now during the change in seasons, the concrete will work similarly to the 6 x 12 brick that the house was built with in the 1950s and the moisture can get outside. You don’t have to leave a Tail. You just cut flush and don’t mortar over the end. This would be very useful for watering plants or getting moisture out of a place that you have trouble accessing like a void in a boat. You could drill a small hole put this inside and let the wick pull the moisture out to the larger atmosphere. This could help prevent or slow rotting that happens inside voids on boats. Small boats, of course.

This is a fantastic method for hydrating your plants without overwatering. Just make sure the material makes contact with the roots; then, place water in a saucer or container, ideally keeping the water level as close as possible to the roots so that the water can flow easily and keep both the roots and the soil moist. This works well for plants that are already established in the pots. However, if you are just about to planter in a pot or transplant, it is even easier: simply lay the strip over the roots, thread it through the drainage holes at the bottom of the pot, and cover everything with your potting soil. And just like that—problem solved! It is very easy to use, incredibly convenient, and—best of all—extremely affordable. You get a generous amount of material—enough for plenty of plants. I am absolutely delighted with my purchase and highly recommend it!

If you’re looking at this products, it’s because, like me, you have a few plant babies, some of which are either too meaningful, too large or let’s face it, too EXPENSIVE to die! Listennnnnnn!!!! I buy a ton on Amazon and I rarely leave reviews, but hear me when I say, this simple “string” is THE TRUTH! I have TWO Thai Monsteras, an Anthirium Michelle, A Ring of Fire, an African Milk etc., ie plants that I just can’t buy again without spending $$$. Of course I also have many others (approx 30) that call me mum. I needed to travel last minute for two weeks and it was paining me to think that my babies would suffer while I’m away. I searched and searched for options and the reviews on some of these contraptions (globes, water bottle slow drip terra cotta bla bla) gave me anxiety. And then, and thennnnn friends, I saw this. This STRING! The educator in me was curious and doubtful and hopeful all at once! I bought it. And after two weeks the only thing I needed to replace was my table cloth and its plastic cover! Dead plant where?!? Dry plant where?!? It’s honestly the SIMPLEST thing! For me, I put the majority of my plants on dining table and filled up 3 large containers with water. I arranged them to my best thoughts, though when I do this again I will tweak a bit. I measured enough string to have it lay flat in the bottom of the container and be able to make a “c” in the pot, that way I could ensure the bulk of the dirt was moist. I then pre soaked each string, arranged it in the pot and left the other part in the container with water. The string functions well and retains water quickly. And for two whooooole weeks this was enough for my babies! DRY PLANT WHERE?!? DEAD PLANT WHERE?!?! For the most part, soil was moist, not wet but in the smaller plants/containers, you could tell they were watered. I did come back to one container dry but I think it’s because I designated too many plants to it as the other two still had water left. I plan to reuse, hopefully they can get more than one use. I really wish I had taken photos, but hey, take this old 40something at her word. This STRING is all you need. Well buckets of water too 🙃

Great for my auto pots works very well

Kept my plants alive for 4 weeks while on holiday. Once I had set up my elaborate irrigation system( plastic water bottles) the string started working right away. No plant casualties so would recommend this product.
