Let me start by saying that it has taken me a while to get the hang of using this gimbal, but I am glad that I have persevered as the results are very good.The reason it has taken me so long is that the instructions are not particularly clear or easy to access. You get a very basic set up guide and are then directed to a long series of online tutorials. If you are a complete novice like I am then like me you might find it all very overwhelming. It took me quite a few sessions and a lot of perseverance before I could even get the basic functions to work. After a lot of online learning and many hours I finally began to get my head around it. I still don't find it intuitive, but the basic functions are logical enough.The gimbal itself is made from strong components and holds my Pixel 7 Pro firmly in place with a little bit of room for a slightly larger phone if you needed. The controls fall quite naturally under the relevant fingers and thumbs and there is a decent amount of feedback when you are operating it. The unit can be hand held or there is a standard tripod attachment if required.The unit works really well. The phone is held very stable and the results are excellent. There are several modes (which I am still getting used to) but you can have smooth pan and so on, so I think that this should cover pretty much every requirement for a stabiliser.So overall I am impressed with the results from this device but it has taken me on a journey to get there. Maybe it is the lack of instructions, or maybe it is just my inexperience with using anything like this before, but it is the first time in a long time that I have struggled so much with new technology. If you are looking for a gimbal then I would certainly say that this one should be on your list.

Still getting to grips with it (pardon the pun!) but it is an incredible piece of kit.Comes very well-packaged in a professional quality box (quite a large one!).The AI tracker works very well, enabling beautifully smooth video fro my iPhone 15 Pro Max.To get the very best out of a device like this I feel that you really do need to have decent video-editing skills too, using something like Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, but there is no doubt that the quality of your raw video will improve dramatically with a gimbal like this.The included set-up guide is very basic - you are directed instead to download the online manual. I would actually suggest instead to go onto YouTube where you will find endless guidance on set and use.It's very well constructed from quality materials; although I had never used a gimbal before now I was already aware that ZHIYUN is a highly-regarded brand in this sector.I feel that I am still climbing a reasonably steep learning curve in order to maximise the benefits of this fantastic device, but I am enjoying the process.Highly recommended.- - - - - - - - - -Note: As a member of the Vine program I was supplied with this item free of charge. I previously owned two Zhiyun gimbals and they had performed very well for vlogging, so I was very interested to test this Smooth-5S AI Pro. I can confirm this gimbal works perfectly on my iPhone 15 Pro Max and the performance has been very consistent. This Smooth-5S AI Pro is able to support the weight of my Pro Max. In comparison, the old Zhiyun gimbals were designed for smaller phones so they no longer support the weight of Pro Max. The AI feature is interesting and I can confirm that it can recognise my gestures without problems. I particularly like the fill lights which are very convenient so I can film and follow the object without holding external lights. Most importantly, the video is very smooth as expected. Overall, this is one of the best gimbals for smartphones in 2024.

This gimbal takes my smartphone videos to the next level. The stabilization is impressive, even when I'm walking or moving around. The AI tracking feature is a bit hit-or-miss, but when it works, it's fantastic. It's not the lightest gimbal out there, but it feels well-made and worth the investment for smoother footage.

I was having issues with the original gimbal I received, but I contacted the seller, and they replaced the gimbal with a new one which appears to be working correctly. This gimbal is really cool and pairs easily with my Android phone. Once you figure out how to use it, it really helps level up your video shots.
