The Plot: The Shocking Inside Story of Who Really Runs Britain

Everyone should read this book
If, like me, you have wondered why politicians promise us everything during their election campaigns but it all disappears once they step through the No.10 door, this book explains why. If you're already sceptical about MPs, you will never trust another one again after reading this. It is the best book I've read in ages in terms of not being able to put it down but it's also one of the most shocking, in terms of what it reveals. If you're not a fan of Boris Johnson, you may have a different opinion of him once you've read this book - and as a result, it could change your mind about the politicians you thought were ok. It's a real eye-opener but not in a good way.

uncannily accurate
Nadine Dorries has an impressive reputation for her novels; fictional they are but based on her personal experiences whilst growing up from virtual destitution. In contrast this book documents the complex and covert machinations which were in process to undermine and eventually remove Boris Johnson from his elected post of Prime Minister. Written well in advance of its eventual publication date, this book seems to forecast the events which would gradually unfold even now from it. Ms. Dorries has been extremely wise in presenting the information by way of quotation from a large number of interviewees and obviously this has avoided any particular legal challenge. They all confirm the same conclusion - a complex and devious plot by insidious 'insiders' who manipulate politics in order to achieve ends which are far removed from the needs of ordinary people and which continues in process to this day. It can be seen that those who desire to remain within the confines of the European Commission seeking revenge together with others who have a lust for power, sought any means to destroy the popularity of Boris Johnson and eventually succeeded. Nadine Dorries, having her honour denied, is testament to the power of those who continue to plot, as they work with and within the establishment and media .Anyone who feels that the 'Westminster elite' have much to answer for and indeed any ordinary person who wishes to identify just how such a popular Prime Minister with ordinary folk came to be brought down as was Elizabeth Truss by what appears to be the same hidden hands (if Ms. Dorries' confidants are to be believed and they were certainly on the spot and in the right place) should read this book. It explodes the dishonesties told about Johnson which tends to confirm the statement attributed to Hitler that "if you tell a lie which is big enough and you repeat it over and over again, they will believe it"Well written and an eye opener. It had been said of the brave women who undertook assignment for the SOE during the last World War that women "had a far greater capacity for lonely courage than men" - certainly true of Nadine Dorries in writing this book given those ranged against her. Recommended.

Shocking and revelatory!
Shocking, page-turning and truly revelatory - read it and judge for yourself. The real power behind the government. Calls our very sense of democracy into question.

unbelievably true of our so called democracy.
I couldn’t believe what I was reading. How could this have happened in our government. Nadine Dorries interviewed the people within who knew what was going on. A book that needed to be written. Question is what happens now. Well written and has exposed the rot within our government.

A conspiracy theory that makes QAnon look like a Mensa operation
I must begin by saying I have read the first seven chapters and the last three chapters of the book. I have not been able to read all of it – because what I have read have made me realise it is total, utter, ridiculous, garbage! What makes it garbage, is the premise the book is founded upon. That is, that there is this conspiracy between a small number of people in the Conservative party for the last 40 years that determines everything that happens. The conspiracies, must, of course, involve those key people That the author and the very small number of people who are left supporting Boris Johnson saying were part of his downfall – Michael Gove and Dominic Cummings being the first two. This book is clearly an attempt to sanctify Boris Johnson and to vilify all over those that the author believes were responsible for his downfall. The author also wants to stick the knife in to the current Conservative prime minister. As someone who has been against the Conservative party for all my life, I welcome this book as it is yet another indication of how appalling the Conservative party of today is and how it does not deserve to be in power. That is the only reason I would recommend anyone to read the book. Otherwise, do not waste your time on a pile of utter fantastic. Ridiculous nonsense! You can also see why the author writes trashy novels – their writing style is very poor!
