My german shepherd LOVED the softer chew bones when she was a puppy, but as she got her adult teeth and those became dangerous for her, I switched her to adult nylabones. She has never loved nylabones and tend to like softer chew toys. I want her to have bones to chew on in order to keep her teeth clean and strong. This bone was a game changer! I think the claim that it is about 15% softer than a nylabone is true. She likes to chew on this much better, and it shows more wear than nylabones do so it probably will not last as long. However, the slightly decreased density means that she really enjoys chewing on it, so it is definitely worth it! It does break down a little bit into safely edible small pieces, but my dog does not lick them up so you can tell where she was chewing on it by all of the little flecks of bone pieces. The size of the little flecks is so tiny though and I am not concerned about her choking on it, however I do keep it out of her kennel just in case.

My dog seems to only like to chew things that are hard enough to damage her teeth and gums. I've been looking for products that might be a bit safer. My initial impression of this product was that it is very large and heavy! I have a smallish Labrador (57 lb) and this bone looks giant in her mouth or paws. If I was ordering again, I'd choose the small size.Although it's supposed to be less hard than many of the nylon/wood/plastic chews out there, I can't say that I appreciated that much.While my dog showed some immediate interest, this is definitely not her go-to bone - she much prefers a Benebone. It might in part be because this bone is so large (and heavy).I love the aspects of increased safety and environmental friendliness, so I'm hoping that my dog changes her mind!

I liked the size and design of this chew--but the Medium is not 15-20% softer than other chews like Nylabone. I am returning and will order the Soft version. Update--I'd ordered the Soft version, but was sent the Classic, which is still hard. I let my younger dog try it out. Chunks broke off, so I'm glad I was monitoring. I also found blood on the chew bone, so it's now in the trash. Not ordering from this company again.

All 5 of my dogs absolutely LOVE this bone, they're almost constantly fighting over it and stealing it from each other. It's a fantastic size for large dogs, and a great shape for them to hold while chewing. This bone is softer than nylon, and if you have power chewers, it'll be gone in just a few days. It breaks off into tiny pieces that aren't sharp at all. It can make a bit of a mess, but the bits can easily be picked up or vacuumed up if your dog doesn't eat them. I really love that this bone is sustainably made, as well.

My dog is a big boy 75lb pittie and these types of bones normally don't last long - this one is still around and it's been a few weeks! Not because he doesn't like it, quite the opposite in fact! It's just withstood his chewing way better then any brand we've tried before! Very pleasantly surprised!

My dog is huge fan of benebones and theirs usually last her a month. This one she had one whole arm chewed off within 15 minutes. Not to mention how big the pieces that splinter off are. It also made for interesting potty breaks. It made her struggle and noticed it was mostly pieces of this.

My dog (a 77 pound golden doodle) loves bones and has a pretty good collection going. She bounces from one bone to another depending on her mood. I ordered this bone and when it arrived she smelled it and wagged her tail furiously. I handed it to her and I was a little uncertain. It seemed pretty heavy and tough. I really wondered if she was going to be able to chew at it. She went to work and hasn't stopped chewing this bone since it arrived. She is obsessed with it. She holds the bottom between her paws as she works on either side. She seems to enjoy the side with the dots round bumps and I know that's very helpful for her teeth/tartar. After a day she was already wearing down the side with the round bumps, but in fairness, she hadn't stopped chewing it all day. She is so touch on bones, that I did find a small piece of it nearby but it wasn't a splinter and was just a small piece that she had chewed off. Since it's food grade and natural, I wasn't too concerned about this, although it did make me wonder how long this bone will last her at this rate. But in the end, it's all worth it because she really enjoys it so much.

I was really happy to find this bone as I don't particularly like giving nylon ones to our dogs anymore. They always tend to chew something to a sharp point or get small chunks off to swallow.This is made out of all food grade materials and is not hard on their stomach if they happen to swallow some. The scent also intrigued them much more than the nylon bones do. This should last a good while as it is a large size and our dogs are not obsessive chewers. They like it though and I feel safe giving it to them, so it's a win win.
