I'm a convert. Never thought I'd admit it but here I am, 4 months in and it's working wonderfully.
I'll make this short and sweet and get right to the point. I could type paragraphs about my background working in lawn and garden and repairing gas tools but that's irrelevant. On to what is; TL;DR great mower, has many positives over a gas engine. REGISTER YOUR MOWER/CHARGER/BATTERY as soon as you get it. EGO customer service was great to me but it would have been a pain if I hadn't registered. Here are the selling points that led me to buy this battery powered (scoff!) mower. So far it's lived up to them very well; 1) Storage. I can blow this thing off with compressed air and it folds up neatly into a small form factor and I can store it in my house. I wouldn't dare try that with a gas powered mower. This thing fits neatly against the wall by my back door and is extremely easy to unfold when I need to mow. 1 side lever and 2 clamps to extend the handlebar and I'm off. I don't have an outdoor shed to store tools in so... this was a big thing for me. 2) Quiet. This thing is pretty damn quiet, it just sounds like a fan on wheels. I'm not worried about pissing off the neighbors when I mow later in the evenings to escape the heat and it's just nice to be able to hear myself think while I'm using it. 3) Ability to mow at normal pace. This is the one I was concerned about. I didn't get a self-propelled option (I'm not that bougie) but I've had to put off mowing longer than I like (I try to mow weekly) and even in dense tall grass I have no issues powering right through it. The mower has an internal mode where it senses the blade speed reducing and kicks in a high-current mode until you get through the tough stuff. I can hear and feel it power-up. It's nice that it automatically goes back down in output to minimize battery consumption. 4) longevity. What's the point in having a battery powered mower if I have to recharge it after every single pass, right? I opted for the 7.5 Ah battery to mitigate the changeover from gas and I am not missing the extra mess, noise, or smell over this thing. I had some issues with the battery but I'll discuss that more later in the "cons" but TL;DR Ego customer service warrantied it and I had a new one within a week so that's a HUGE plus for me, that they stand behind their product. I have a 1/3 acre lawn and I can get through it with power to spare on the 7.5Ah battery. I'm not mowing super thick southern grass like I did in Charleston (centipede etc...) and I mow weekly but so far I'm not missing gas at all in this regard. Things that I've observed since I've owned it that I would change if I had my druthers but really aren't cons so to speak. 1) The blade material is kind of soft. This thing is by no means a commercial grade product and you need to pick up things in your yard before mowing. I have a tree in the back yard and I've missed the occasional twig here and there. The blades become dinged pretty easily but I can file them right back out with no issues. 2) I have mixed feelings about the deck design. On one hand it sheds grass very easily, I don't have to clean it, even if it clumps a bit when it's damp/dewy outside. I like that it's plastic and it seems to hold up MUCH better than the blades do. I am not worried about it rusting away or requiring replacement at all. but the con here is the single-handle deck height system. The whole mower is light, maybe 60-75% of the weight is just in the battery alone. It's super easy to push and navigate. 3) Single-point deck height adjustment... The deck height adjust, while convenient, places the front wheels so far in front of the mower I can't really get that close to what I'm mowing. The sides end right by the blade and I can get up close there but not at all in the front. I'd rather have to individually adjust each wheel's height and gain some coverage at the front. I don't change deck height all that often. I've got a nice DeWalt string trimmer so I'm covered in this regard but still, I'd change it if I could. 4) battery charge time. So the set I bought came with the fast charger. True to promise It charges the 7.5Ah battery in under an hour. It's a little noisy but not a deal breaker for me. My DeWalt fast charger is just as loud and I appreciate that it has a fan to cool the battery while it charges. Customer Support/issues. The only problem I've had so far is, right out of the box, the battery wouldn't fully charge to all 5 bars. I didn't think much of it as the first couple of weeks I had no issue mowing my yard with plenty of juice left over. by the end of the third week I couldn't even do half and I was a little irritated but when I got online to file a warranty claim, I was directed to a phone number. Much to my surprise I was able to get my battery covered very easily, Ego sent a new one through UPS and I had it within a few days, they didn't ask me to return the old one so now I have a spare-ish that'll last for a little bit at least. The new 7.5Ah battery is fantastic and it's clear the first one had a dead bank or some other internal issue.

Maybe the Perfect Lawn Mower?
Purchased this mower after a fair bit of research. I knew I didn't want the hassle of storing gasoline so it was definitely going to be electric, but after lots of combing through reviews and testimonials, decided on Ego, partially because of the mower itself but also due to the fairly large yard care ecosystem that Ego has available for their 56V battery platform. I briefly considered the self-propelled model, but after hearing about that feature's impact on battery life and given that I only needed to mow about half an acre, I decided to go with the push version instead. Construction is excellent, with lightweight but durable plastics and aluminum used throughout. You get multiple blades and can set it up for bagging, side-exit or mulching, which is the default configuration. Height adjustment is via a single lever on the side of the deck, so adjusting is incredibly simple. This is an outstanding mower for my needs. The 7.5Ah battery has plenty of juice left over when I'm finished - more than enough to run my string trimmer and leaf blower when I've finished mowing before sticking the battery back on the charger. The biggest quality of life improvement versus gasoline (aside from not having to keep gasoline around and deal with modern gas cans) is the noise level. This mower is quiet enough to run without hearing protection and also be able to listen to podcasts or music at a normal volume on plain earbuds while you work. Beyond that, the mower makes tons of power for quickly taking care of basic mowing or blasting through overgrown areas or the occasional branch without having to stop and the mower with battery is light enough that I question the need for a self-propelled version. It also folds up into a compact package that you can lean against or hang onto a wall, making storage easy. I can't recommend this mower enough for people with small to midsized properties. Their string trimmers and leaf blowers are similarly excellent products and being able to use the same battery in everything simplifies everything nicely.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding Lawn Mower – Quiet, Powerful, and a Pleasure to Use!
After years of using gas-powered lawn mowers, I finally decided to make the switch to the EGO POWER+ LM2114, and I honestly wish I had done it sooner. This mower has completely changed my opinion of battery-powered lawn equipment. The first thing that impressed me was how quiet it is. I can mow my lawn without disturbing the entire neighborhood, and I don't have to deal with the roar, fumes, or constant vibration of a gas engine. Starting the mower couldn't be easier—just insert the battery, press the button, and you're ready to go. No more pulling a starter cord, changing oil, cleaning carburetors, or making trips to the gas station. The cutting performance is outstanding. Even through thicker sections of grass, the mower powers through with ease and leaves behind a clean, even cut. The adjustable cutting height is simple to change, allowing me to get exactly the look I want. The mulching performance is excellent, returning fine clippings back to the lawn and helping keep it healthy. The included 56V 6.0Ah battery has been more than enough for my yard, and I still have charge left over when I'm finished. The 320W charger recharges the battery quickly, so it's always ready for the next mowing session. The battery system is another huge advantage because it's compatible with other EGO tools, making it a great investment if you plan to expand your cordless lawn equipment collection. I also appreciate how lightweight and easy to maneuver this mower is. Navigating around flower beds, trees, and landscaping is effortless, and storing it is simple thanks to its compact folding design. Cleanup is minimal compared to a gas mower, and maintenance is practically nonexistent. Overall, this mower delivers everything I was hoping for: impressive cutting power, long battery life, quiet operation, ease of use, and virtually maintenance-free ownership. It's environmentally friendly, eliminates the hassle of gasoline and oil, and makes mowing the lawn something I actually enjoy. If you're on the fence about switching from gas to battery-powered lawn equipment, don't hesitate. The EGO POWER+ LM2114 is a high-quality machine that performs beyond expectations. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a dependable, powerful, and convenient lawn mower. It's one of the best purchases I've made for my home and lawn.

Good enough that I bought it again
I'd love to give this 5 stars but it doesn't cut well enough to deserve it. That said, I'm buying my second model 2101 to replace the one I got 7 years ago. The original still runs fine, but the wheels are ripped up (my fault for repeatedly pushing it along retaining block wall). For the price of 4 wheels and a new battery you may as well buy a new mower. I was happy to see this model still available. The EGO website directed me to the Amazon page, but make sure it says sold by Amazon.com so EGO will honor the warranty. I looked at the newer 2114 model. That one has slightly more torque (6 vs 5.3 lb-ft) and the battery compartment is a little nicer (battery installs at an angle and the release is more of a lever than a button), but after considering the options I prefer the design of the 2101. It stores better, with the handle folding fully upright. The grab handle is much nicer going all the way through the body whereas the 2114 handle is a little recess that barely fits your fingertips. As for performance, I'd rate this 7 out of 10. It doesn't cut as well as I'd like, but considering the package overall, it's good enough that I bought another one. It's lightweight and fairly quiet (less so with the high-lift blade). We have very lush St Augustine grass which is probably worst case for a mower. The standard blade probably misses about 3% of the grass blades. Still, the yard looks amazing, especially compared to the "professional" service that used a zero-turn mower that mutilated our yard, cut it too low, and created ruts. I mow at the highest setting (4") and mow at least once per week during growing season. By the end of the first summer with this EGO mower, we started getting compliments from our neighbors on how nice the yard looked. There may be better mowers, but this is easy to use and easy to store. I don't have to worry about maintenance or gas and it runs quiet enough to listen to podcasts or audiobooks while mowing.

I love this mower!
I absolutely love my ego lawn mower. It’s super light weight making it easy to push and use. At first I was worried that I didn’t spend the extra money and get self propelled but so far it’s not been an issue. It’s so easy to push you can do it with one hand. The size is great too. It’s wide enough so you can make less passes to mow the yard. It’s also great that you can adjust the height of the handle so just about anyone can use it. It’s easy to adjust the height of the cut as well and can be adjusted using one hand pulling the lever which adjusts all 4 wheels at the same time. It’s super quiet, and with the head lights you can literally mow at anytime of the day. It seems to be pretty well made, however the plastic does scratch kinda easily compared to your traditional metal mowers. I just try to be mindful of that fact. Over all it’s the best mower I’ve had and totally happy I switch over to the eco brand. I’m slowly buying there other products now too.

Quiet, powerful, and totally worth it!
This EGO POWER+ mower is amazing — I can’t believe how easy it is to use! Just press a button and go. The battery lasts long enough for me to mow my entire yard (about 1/3 acre) twice on a single charge, and it recharges extremely fast with the rapid charger. It’s surprisingly powerful for an electric mower, and it’s much easier to use than my previous electric mower or any gas mower that I have owned. I love how lightweight and easy it is to maneuver and how quiet it is. Folding it up for storage is super convenient, too. If you’re tired of dealing with gas mowers, this is the upgrade you’ve been waiting for. Totally worth the investment!

Many Pros and no Cons...so far
This is my fourth Ego purchase and I am being honest when I say that I can't find any problems with this mower. I am one to not award a 5-star review if the product doesn't deserve it but this one does! I have been using it for only a few months so this is not a long-term review. I am giving you a short-term review and can always change it later if necessary. This mower has plenty of power for typical yard grass (3" to 5"). It might struggle if you set it very low and pick up thatch but other than that, I have had no issues in the power department. I can mow 10,000 square feet, weed eat and use the blower on half of a 5ah battery charge. This is amazing. I did receive an older-style battery which does not have the power meter but it has been working just fine. The mower is very light and maneuverable and folds up neatly for storage. I bought an additional cover for it and it fits perfectly. To clean it, I usually just blow it off with my Ego blower and will sometimes rinse the blade area off with water. There is only one level adjustment lever as opposed to two (front and back) which is really nice for my application. It does have a headlight on it but I rarely use it since I don't mow after dark. It is there if you need it though. I am being honest when I say that I love this mower! I keep a gas-powered mower around for back-up or if I need to plow through super high, gnarly grass though. If you have a larger yard, you might need a second battery but if you have a smaller yard, one battery will work just fine. Ego recommends that you always store the batteries above a 50 degree temperature. I keep mine inside when not in use. I also run them to empty before charging. Not sure if this is factory advice but it has worked well for me. Also, DO NOT charge the batteries while in storage over the winter. They will flash red from time to time but this is normal. Only charge them when you are using them. Hope this helps some folks.

Good mower, as long as the grass isn't long and wet
I do like this mower. It's light and fairly powerful. It looks nice and even compared to gas mowers, is very well built and durable. Raising and lowering the deck is a matter of moving one lever. Generally, under what I would see as ideal conditions (longish but dry), I can mow my yard twice on one charge. However, this particular summer has seen higher than normal rainfall. I normally count on the yard to turn brown and die by August, but this year it's thick and lush, which translates to fast-growing and generally wet. This mower doesn't handle thick, wet grass very well, tending to clog and stall frequently. The side discharge, as others will attest is useless, so there's literally no difference between using it and mulching. As a result, this absolutely wrecks battery life. I can't get my lawn mowed on a single charge, so knocking it out in one go is impossible. I'm not overly torn up about not having a gas mower, but if I had a bigger yard (more than a quarter acre), there's no way this mower would work for me unless I invested in several batteries.

Happy EGO customer but not a fan of the service pacakage sold.
The mower is great; however, the setup fee of 65+ wasn't needed. Really all the serviceman did was open the box and unwrap it. I didn't need the bag attached but that was also a simple install. The Amazon add led me to believe that a real setup was required including screwing parts together, etc; but it didn't. I am an EGO equipment fan but wish there were more service people available in Edmonton to repair my old one that just wouldn't start. It worked great during the last grass cutting but wouldn't restart. If you have any ideas for repairmen in Edmonton that won't cost the amount of a new mower, I would love to hear about one. The serviceman who came to setup was great but definitely not needed for the cost.

I have committed to EGO cordless products due to the quality, and the interchangeable batteries.
Works great, especially if you have committed to buying Ego cordless products like I have. (I wish EGO would make a cordless pool cleaner.)
