The Vogue Knitting Stitchionary Volume Three: Color Knitting: The Ultimate...
I own the entire set of the Vogue Knitting Stitchionary's. This one deals with knitting with more than one color of yarn. Fair Isle and Intarsia. If you want to know how to knit with colors, this is the book to have. They are very well written and formatted with excellent photos.

Good deal.
As always, Vogue's stitchionary books have clear, well-written patterns. The patterns are beautifully photographed so you can see exactly what your knitting will look like.

Some Very Nice Color Stitch Patterns
This book contains some very nice color stitch patterns. It has lovely photographs and I loved looking at the book. However, it is far from the ultimate stitch dictionary of color. There are so many variations of color and stitches that are not in this book so do not be fooled into thinking that this is 'it'. Those of you wanting to see more color patterns should check out the following: 1. 1000 Great Knitting Motifs by Luise Roberts 2) Kaffe Fassett's Pattern Library 3) The Essential Guide to Color Knitting Techniques by Margaret Radcliffe 4) The Knitting Experience; Book 3: Color by Sally Melville 5) Knitting Color by Brandon Mably So, there it is. While Stitchionary 3 is a nice photo book of some lovely color stitches, it is NOT the ultimate stitch dictionary that Vogue claims it to be.

Who knew?
I learned to knit as a child and let it stay at that level all my life. That will no longer be the case when I have worked my way through these stitches.

Oops, not what I thought
Not what I expected. This is a book. Of patterns. I was looking for a book that would help me learn how to knit patterns in color. It's just patterns

If you want to knit using color, this is the book. I do wish there was a little more instruction. It is mostly patterns.

A Picture Book
I was rather disappointed with this book. There is not a section on colour knitting techniques! The photographed swatches of various designs are lovely and there are several pages at the end of the book on creating other designs so if you are looking for advice and techniques on colour knitting, forget it.

Not very enticing
I understand that this book is a source book - that's why I got it. I don't expect it to be an instructional book on how to do colour knitting - that's available elsewhere. What I did expect was a number of stimulating colour patterns - maybe some traditional patterns, maybe some new ones. What there is an over-abundance of in this book, is two or more coloured patterns that seem to come from the 1970s-1980's. Think of all those cheaply-made machine-knitted acrylic sweaters with the geometric patterns on, and you are getting near to what forms the majority of patterns in this book. There is a tendency towards overall pattern, rather than motif. Patterns seem to be made up at random - anyone can get hold of a piece of graph paper and draw out a design which they then knit up - I didn't see anything of merit in so many of the patterns, and actually quite frustrated by the content of this book - what were they thinking of? and what a wasted opportunity.
