Great laser/light for cost and convenience
Overall easy install, functional, great looking. Pro's: -Easy to install -Looks great and bright. Laser is nice as well. Con's: -When installed, it won't fit in some holsters at that point. Hopefully yours has an adjustable clip, mine did and did not have a problem moving forward. -Pressing the laser/light button is tough with one hand, use two hands on the gun then press it. It takes a bit of pressure when pressing. I think after a few 100 presses it should get easier. Some say, problem with screws and stripping. I found taking your time and using the supplied hex tool it worked fine. Just take your time and be sure the screws are hand twisted before you start using the wrench for sure. Install is very easy - Just take out three screws, put one side one, put the other side on snug and fit, then replace the screws. IMPORTANT: Screws are small and thin so be sure to get a small cup/bowl to catch them if they fall so you don't lose them in a crevice or in the deep realm of carpeting or similar. If you lose one, you may have troubles or shipping wait to receive more.

Tactical light / laser combo that fits like a glove!
I was looking for an affordable laser light for my Smith & Wesson M&P Shied. I found this and had some doubts as to whether it look as smooth and seamless as it does in the pictures, and if it was, how difficult would the installation process be. The bonus was the it was both a laser and a light, which I love! When I got it it took me all of about 3 mintues to install it. The directions were easy to read and installation was simple enought that anyone should be able to do it. Bonus points for the fact that the allen wrench needed was included with the product packaging. Once it was installed it was perfectly seamless and looks very slick. There is a button on both sides to accomodate both left and right handed operators. The button is well positioned so that you do not have to adjust your grip to activate the light or laser. The one drawback is that in order to switch from light to laser, you have to press both side buttons at the same time, which you cannot do easily if you are actively utitilzing the device. The light and laser are both plenty bright enought. The light is bright enough to easily light of a dark room, and the laser can be seen in daylight without difficulty. It cost jsut over $100, which is actually cheaper than most comparable devices that do not look or fit as well as this less expensive one. I have had it for nearly a year now and have not had to change the battery so far and have not had any issues.

Easy install and sturdy feel
Fit great on my shield plus. Had everything assembled in 5 minutes. Don’t need to man handle the mounting screws. The flashlight is pretty bright, and the laser is pretty cool. Adjusting the laser wasn’t hard at all either. Definitely recommend for bada** purposes.

Great for home defense if your vision isn't great
Having a light on your home defense weapon is always a plus, and this light has the option of leaving the light on by pressing the button quickly then releasing, or holding it down continuously for light then releasing (after a longer period, can't remember the specs but about one second or more) and the light will shut off. Easy to toggle between the modes of light, light plus laser, or just laser. My vision sucks so I wear glasses most of the time so if something or someone comes into my room I can easily get the light/laser combo on and (with training) feel good about putting shots on target. With that, if you have crappy vision like me, make sure you talk to whoever you're living with about action plans if you have an intruder and come up with a "safe word" so you don't accidentally shoot someone who's not a threat. Also, the last two times I went to the range I put about 200 rounds through my shield each time. After each trip I needed to clean the front of the light from all the buildup it gathered for how it sits pretty much flush with the barrel of the gun. I use this as my EDC too so I picked up a few kydex holsters that fit the shield plus my light. Tolster easily was the best. Great turnaround (thanks prime) and I like the way it fits the weapon better as well (Inside the waistband). I waited on two other kydex holsters for 7 weeks and wasn't nearly as impressed (checkout the Tolster shield 9mm + tlr6 review for those details). I don't get paid for any of these recommendations so while I might sound like a fanboy, I'm just giving you my honest opinion. All said and done this light/laser combo looks SO clean on my shield and I haven't lost any control in my grip because of it either. I highly recommend it and I hope this review helps as you sort through your options!

Awesome laser + light combo
The TLR-6 is the first modification I made to my M&P Shield 9 and my Springfield XD 9, and this one looks even better than it did on my XD. Installation: there are 3 hex screws that clamp the left and right housing to the light & laser cartridge assembly. Using the included hex wrench, remove the 3 screws, take off the outer shell/housing where you had accessed the screws, then rest the firearm into the remaining half of the housing. Press firmly until the firearm's trigger guard is tightly seated into the housing, then take the other half of the housing and firmly press it into place and reinstall the 3 hex screws. Lastly, unsnap the latch on the bottom of the TLR-6 to access the battery compartment and install the 2 included 1/3N size batteries (they officially recommend only Duracell or Energizer brands). Operation: the TLR-6 has 3 settings: laser only, light only, then laser + light. These settings can be cycled by pressing both the left and right side buttons simultaneously. Pressing only one of these side buttons will toggle on/off the last chosen setting. The laser can be calibrated by using the included hex wrench on the screw openings on the bottom (horizontal/wind adjustment) and left (vertical/elevation adjustment) of the TLR-6. To zero/calibrate the laser sight, I went to an indoor shooting range and placed my target at about 10 yards. I then adjusted the laser to be roughly on point with the iron sight on that same target, then adjusted the elevation screw depending on high/low my bullet strikes actually landed. Worth noting that the distance you use to zero the laser will determine how high/low your bullets will strike. If you shoot at a distance less than your zero range, the bullet will strike high and vice versa for shooting at a distance greater than your zero range. Overall I'm very happy with the TLR-6. It's nice and bright and complements the aesthetics of the handgun so well that it would look factory to a layman. If you plan to CCW, then I'd also recommend taking a look at the "M&P SHIELD 9/40 w/ TLR-6 Tuckable IWB KYDEX Holster" at Concealment Express. I use these together when carrying and it's a snug fit. My only feedback is the same I gave for the XD variant on the TLR-6: it would be nice to engineer a tool-less installation design and/or one that doesn't require a total disassembly of the shell housings from the laser/light cartridge to install.

Great Fit & Functionality
I am very happy with how well this produce fits my S&W M&P Shiels Plus. The location of the on/off switch is in the perfect location. The light and laser work perfectly.

Greatly improved point and Shoot Accuracy!
if you don’t have basic shooting skills this laser won’t make you a marksman. But if you have a handle on the basics you can definitely improve your accuracy from short distances in particular with point and shoot versus having to use your sights. I used this laser on an MP shield 3.1 barrel. Version 1.0 Cal Compliant. from about 5 yards and point and shoot only, I managed to shoot a tight group of about 2 inches, rapid fire. I shot better from a point and shoot versus using the sights. I did not make any laser adjustments though I did have to adjust the placement of the laser on the target as it seemed to shoot a couple of inches high. After adjustment I shot a very tight group. This is a far more economical solution versus trying to retrofit a red dot sight which probably would not be worth the money as this is really not a firearm for use much past 15 yards though I’m sure people may use it for that purpose. The shield in my opinion is for immediate short range self-defense and a laser sight adds to the effectiveness of this weapon. The laser site is easy to turn on with one’s right index finger and you can set which mode it defaults when you turn it on. I did not read the manual but if you are left-handed the default setting could be unreliable.

Excellent quality but not rechargeable.
Steller fitment and build quality. I love how it matches the rest of the aesthetic of the shield. The one downside are the batteries. I wish this came in a rechargeable format. Be very leery of buying these used. The one I ordered used not only did not fit my shield but was not the laser model I ordered.
