Great, works perfectly with a Raspberry Pi
I was using a Raspberry Pi (Model 4, 4GB) to control power from a high power source - I tested with 12V, 16V, and 20V sources. It worked great with the 3.3V from the GPIO pins.To get this working, I had the positive voltage from the power source connected to my load (the positive side of the load), then the negative/ground voltage from the power source connected to the Source pin (right pin when looking at it from the "front"), the Drain pin (middle pin) connected to the negative side of my load, and the Gate pin (right pin) connected to the GPIO pin of the Raspberry Pi. You can find guides for the Raspberry Pi & RGB LED-Strips setups that people have posted with circuits using this and the IRLZ34.

Fair quality by rough test
I read some ppl mentioned bad units. It might not. You need to discharge Gate first before test Source and Drain. Simply connect Gate and Source. BTW, from left to right when facing the print word side:1️⃣ Gate (to Pi GPIO pin)2️⃣ Drain (to Led-)3️⃣ Source (to 12v+)BTW: Led+ to 12v+

Good substitution
It arrived quickly and the logic level MOS FET worked well with the Raspberry Pico. I used 100 ohm resistor in series with the GPIO Pin to gate and a 10 K ohm from gate to ground to help with noise.

The "L" differs from the "N"
The difference is that the L series MOSFET's gate opens much "wider" than the "N", staring above 5 volts Vgs. Think of it as a "turbo". At Vgs 7-9 V, it can pass a lot more current Vds (on) and that's a blessing for my electric-control application! A beauty!
