Well Written by Someone Who's Been There
Carlson's book "Trauma Recovery Pathways: A Mindfulness Roadmap to Healing and Resilience" is a transforming resource. This book stands out because of its personal touch—Carlson is a trauma survivor who shares real-life lessons that are incredibly relatable. Her kind demeanor serves as a valuable emotional support system for readers as they go toward recovery, enhancing any professional care they may already be getting.This book is filled with practical mindfulness practices and therapeutic approaches meant to manage PTSD symptoms, eliminate triggers, and develop resilience. These ideas are presented by Carlson in an easy to ready format that makes them appropriate for readers at any point in their recovery. The author has been through it and has written a practical book that covers the subject thoroughly. I especially liked the discussion of helpful apps and the numbered lists of healthy ways to cope, resources for connection, online groups, etc. The book is very well organized. It will serve as a helpful resource for anybody looking to assist loved ones in recovering from trauma in addition to serving as a manual for personal rehabilitation.

Excellent introduction to PTSD and C-PTSD recovery methods
Author Gretchen Carlson has created an excellent introduction to the topic of PTSD and the pathways to recovery with a special focus on a unique style of mindfulness. What I appreciated most about this book was the formatting and great layout that accompanied clear definitions about key concepts regarding trauma and recovery. By the end of this book, readers will have a decent grasp of the many approaches to recovery in both the professional psychology (EMDR, somatic treatment, CBT, etc) and more non-traditional approaches (Yoga, mindfulness, aromatherapy, etc).If you are interested in learning about trauma and recovery issues, this book is for you!

PTSD, Pathways Forward
I didn't know I needed this book as much as I did. I've done a lot of recovery work and didn't realize how much there was still to know about ongoing recovery efforts. The section on PTSD was just what I needed to read! I liked how the author provided stories about others, like case studies, in regards to PTSD.

Wonderful resource!
This resource is immensely helpful with understanding trauma-related mental health diagnoses, how trauma affects the brain, and several strategies to forge healing and recovery. Great advice in this book for managing triggers, forging better interpersonal relationships, and so much more — all through a trauma-informed lens!

A very thorough and approachable guide to a topic that is hard to tackle.
My family has struggled with PTSD over many years, each of us for different reasons/events. We have successfully brought it under control in most of us, but my spouse still struggles. I got this book hoping it would give us some new ideas on how to approach his ongoing issues and it delivered. There are several strategies here that we have not looked into in the past, as well as a lot of encouragement and hope for a better future. I definitely recommend this book to people struggling with PTSD (or their families who are trying to understand and help).

Great Guide Book
As someone who has had PTSD and I had intense therapy to help me, thank God, I wish my loved ones would have had a book like this to read so they could have understood my trauma better. They knew what I had been through, but they didn't understand the PTSD part very well and explaining it to them was just not easy and this book does a beautiful job of explaining that in detail. I would recommend this book to any therapist to suggest to their patients for their loved ones.

Comprehensive book on PTSD
Trauma Recovery Pathways offers valuable insights and practical advice based on the book author's experiences. It provides useful strategies regarding effective trigger management techniques using relaxation exercises. Something I found very valuable is the relatable examples of people's experiences as well as inputs on how to manage a relationship with someone who has PTSD.

Helpful and hopeful
As a person with trauma u thought I knew everything there was to know about myself in this way, but I found myself coming to new realisations and ways to deal with it that I hadn't tried before. Recommended

A very helpful book
This is a great read. I found the information to be very helpful. Trauma can be so personal & varied but the author touched on a number of different issues and offered practical and inspiring strategies. I highly recommend it. Thank you.
