I bought the Tapo TC82 to keep an eye on my backyard and kids playing outside, and it has been fantastic. Setup took literally 5 minutes - just mount it, connect to the app, and you're done. No wiring and the 180-day battery life is no joke; it's been running for weeks with zero maintenance. The 2K video quality is sharp and clear, and the colour night vision is genuinely impressive - I can see every detail in the garden even when it's pitch black. The Al detection is smart enough to ignore swaying trees but still alerts me instantly when someone (or the dog) is there. Best of all, there are no monthly fees and it works perfectly with both Alexa and Google Home. If you want reliable, high-quality outdoor security without subscriptions or complicated installation, this is the one. I've already recommended it to friends and family. Highly recommend!

Really happy with this camera for outdoor monitoring. Easy to set up and great picture quality. Well worth it for the price paid for a product that actually works outdoors within minimum setup requirements. The SD card is bought seperatly and needs to be formatted using the camera settings.

Very good value for money, clear pictures and sound. It is able to start recording before the image gets into view, so I don't miss a thing. I like the fact that I can adapt it at any angle I like, and the app notification is super as well. This should be the best on the market for the price, I am sure. It also connects to Google Home. I can even use it in the card wirelessly when fully charged if I am going on a long scenenic road trip. This is quality.

Generally quite a good camera- easy to set up on the app and it records to my Tapo Hub without a hitch. Alerts seem to work as they should and the AI facial recognition is performing well. But… the mount is pretty poor. It’s very lightweight and isn’t the easiest to make minor adjustments. One of the biggest problems is the image cannot be inverted on these battery cameras, so you can’t have it hanging down from under the eaves - as the mounting screw on the body is on the underside, resulting in an upside down image. You have to have the mount screwed into to rear which makes the whole thing stick out much more than necessary. Also switching between this cam and my other Tapo ones the image is clearly inferior - blown highlights and a bit of a red tinge. But… this was very cheap. Hopefully the battery life will be as good as they say.

The best & easiest wireless security camera ever. I Bought this camera when I upgraded my internet service and no longer needed those ethernet cables that physically connected my office to my home internet & security cam (separate building more than19 meters away). Takes a few hours to charge up through the USB-C connection but claims a full charge lasts upto 180 days. I did not want the eye sore of a solar panel charger so I went for this one. Even if I don't feel like removing it to charge when the time comes (which is really easy) I can just charge it where it sits with a USB-C adapter and extention lead. The visual is incredibly good and you can even use the sound function as an intercom through your Mobile phone or Ipad. As far as storage, I highly recommend subscribing to Tapo's Cloud options. I highly recommend this device. In fact, I am going to order another one for the other end of my house!

When I first got the cameras in 2025, they were quality, decent footage and the only drawback I found is you couldnt cycle back through the daily footage and rather, you'd have to just hope it recorded the event you wanted. About 4 months after, the one camera died and Amazon replaced it. Appreciate these things happen. Fast forward about 8 months and now both cameras are awful. Constantly dropping connection, I have tried moving them next to the router and still having the issue despite having no problem with the internet itself. They constantly disconnect and when you actually want to check footage, are completely unusable and don't respond. One camera will work while the other goes down and then the other will at a different points. I really can't recommend these after 10 months use. They initially will seem decent but give it time, it will let you down.

I've had TP Link Tapo cameras before and they have always been great. This one is no exception. So easy to configure and install. The battery lasts for months but charges quickly (I charge mine with a USB powerbank to save having to remove them from the wall but they are easy to take down if needed). The image is super-clear and you can upgrade to cloud storage if required, although they will record to a MicroSD card. I like the cloud storage option and always use it. The camera is small but has a powerful light which can be turned on and off in the Tapo app. You can also speak through the camera using the internal speaker, also from the app. The motion detection is very customisable and it doesn't take long to find the range of sensitivity that works for your own needs.

Absolutely brilliant. Had this going for weeks and battery still 85% brilliant lights on it. Great night vision and loud speakers. Highly recommend. It’s at the bottom of my garden and still connects to wifi. I can check on my chickies night and day. I brought 2 as I was so impressed with the first one and I will definitely get another one soon. I charge it with a battery pack so I don’t need to take it down.

Picture quality is really good at this price point but battery can never last for 180 days fro sure. I have been using for 3 weeks and its already less than 50% with complete over night 100% charge. I would recommend this product with Solar panel at least not to have worried about getting them charge every 2 or max 2.5 months. One thing I love about TAPO their notification timing is in milliseconds its like real time. 4 Stars because notifications and image quality not 5 because battery can't last for 180 days sadly.
