Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%, Formula for Uneven and Blemish-Prone Skin

Whenever I add this product in my skincare regimen, it really gets my skin all the way together. I have dull dry skin and can look fatigued and splotchy later in the day especially if I don’t stay hydrated. But this product along with a moisturizer combats my very dry tired skin—keeping it supple & taught. Consistent & timely applications has helped even out my skin tone. Though it does not fully eliminate hyperpigmentation or acne scars, it does brighten up the complexion. This product has a semi thick consistency (which I love) that spreads effortlessly & absorbed well—-feels velvety (somewhat subtlety grainy) but has a matte finish. It really does wonders in calming your skin & everytime I include this in my skincare, it truly does help in minimizing breakouts. I don’t even remember that last time I had a big ready angry pimple—& that’s coming from someone with very sensitive skin!

I am writing this review because The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% has absolutely done wonders for my skin! I had been struggling with acne and the frustrating redness and dark marks that inevitably get left behind, but this product has been a complete lifesaver. It is incredibly effective at calming down active inflammation and clearing up my complexion without being overly harsh or irritating. It fits perfectly into my daily routine alongside my gentle cleanser and sunscreen, and I have noticed a dramatic difference in my skin's overall texture, tone, and clarity since I started using it. If you are dealing with stubborn breakouts or post-acne marks and need something that actually delivers results, I cannot recommend this highly enough. It is affordable, gentle, and it truly works miracles!

Within days, this product has worked wonders! I've historically had pretty bad combination skin -- dry and flaky but also prone to acne. I tend to have a good amount of hyperpigmentation and redness on top of that. Within days, this product has evened my skin tone (and maybe also improved my acne?) My only complaint is that I wish the bottle came in larger sizes. But I think it's a good value for the money, regardless.

Using for my perimenopausal skin. Tones down red and helps my pores. Does cause dryness with twice daily usage.

This azelaic acid is the best thing that has ever happened to my skin. Their entire line of skin care prices are the best I've ever used. My current skin care routine for p.m. Is the ordinary fermented milky toner then their 0.5% retinol with squalene, followed by niacinamide serum, then the azelaic acid and I finish with CeraVe PM facial moisturizer. I started with just the toner, and azelaic acid from the ordinary. And withing 4 weeks my skin had NOTICABLY improved. I've always struggled with acne. Even as an adult (I'm 33) along with flakey dry skin, and redness. I never went anywhere without foundation on. And now my skin looks even better without it. I never wear makeup anymore. My skin is clear, smooth, dewy and glowy all on its own. I do my lash extensions and that's it. Literally nothing else. And this azaleaic acid is the staple, the best weapon in my skincare arsenal. Don't sleep on The Ordinary. Can't beat the prices or the results!!!

I was honestly hesitant at first because the texture is definitely thicker than a lot of products I normally use, and thicker creams/products tend to irritate my skin or make me nervous about flare ups. To be safe, I started off using a very small amount, and I’m really glad I gave it a chance. I’ve only been using it consistently for about a week so far, but I can already see and feel a difference in my skin. Nothing unrealistic or overnight, but enough that my skin feels calmer, healthier, and more comfortable overall. The redness in my face looks less angry, and my skin texture feels smoother too. Even though the formula is thicker, it doesn’t feel heavy once applied. A little goes a long way, and using too much definitely isn’t necessary. I think easing into it slowly helped my skin adjust really well without irritation. As someone with rosacea, I’m extremely cautious about trying trending skincare products because my skin reacts to things so easily. A lot of viral products end up being too harsh for me, but this one genuinely deserves the hype it’s getting. It feels effective without destroying my skin barrier, which is hard to find. If you have sensitive skin or rosacea and have been nervous about trying azelaic acid, I’d definitely recommend introducing this slowly and giving it a shot. So far, it’s been a really positive addition to my routine, and I’m excited to keep using it long term.

I’ve used this product before, so I already had a good idea of what to expect when I ordered it again. One of the main reasons I came back to it is because I started using it on the dark spots on my face, and I really liked how well it fit into my skincare routine. It feels lightweight, easy to apply, and it doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy or heavy. What I personally like is that it absorbs nicely and layers well with my other skincare products. Since I deal with dark spots, I wanted something I felt comfortable using consistently, and this has been a product I’ve enjoyed coming back to. I also appreciate that it feels gentle on my skin and the bottle is easy to use. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase and I’m glad I ordered it again. For me, it has been an excellent product to keep in my routine, especially because I specifically wanted something to use on the darker areas on my face.

I honestly thought this was a good product at first. It does calm hormonal acne. However, I have extremely oily skin, and with just a thin layer this product dries it out and pills. I apply it gently to try to avoid pilling, but especially if you wear makeup over this, prepare for a nightmare. To treat acne this is not a bad product. Doesn't clear it completely, but does calm acne and decrease breakouts, but the cons outweigh the benefits unfortunately. The main issue I have, is that I bought three tubes of this, thinking maybe I'm overthinking the fact that it barely has any product in it, but after tube three within less than a month, I thought, ok this is ridiculous. So I cut one open to see how much product is really in the tube. It's only filled 1/3 and the rest is filled with air to create an illusion of a full tube. The price seems decent until you realize how quick one tube is gone and then you're buying another one once a week. It adds up! I'm not at all bashing this product, it's not terrible, it does help with acne, but the upkeep with the need to buy one tube a week to continue using this product isn't worth it. Just think the price x4 a month. I rather find another product with Azelaic acid that costs a little more but will last me the month. Rule for me, if the product doesn't at least last a month, it might not be worth the money or hassle to having to keep ordering frequently. If you don't mind re-ordering for a little bit of product, and want something that'll decrease your hormonal acne, this product is definitely worth a try. Just be prepared for the upkeep.

I like this. I’m 49 and have been lacking sleep for quite a while. I find this is the best product I’ve tried that helps with the small bag under my eyes, and it doesn’t feel greasy or harsh. I use it before applying my facial moisturizer in the morning.
