A Guitarist’s Honest Review - (revisited!)
I have been playing electro acoustic guitars for about 30 years, I bought the Lava Me Air because of the amazing YouTube reviews, which sounded really good! The guitar was almost unplayable out of the box and the pick up system sounded terrible!. As a result of my experience I left a very negative review! However, much to my surprise Lava Music reached out to me to see if they could resolve my issues! They did a service upgrade providing me with a replacement, the Lava Me 4 Spruce. This was a completely different experience! With some minor tweaks to the action it plays very nicely, sounds warm and rich and is a beautifully finished guitar. Even without the effects turned on, this guitar sounds and performs very well. Compared to other acoustics on the market of a similar price, the guitar is well worth its price, you will not be disappointed!

Sexy Guitar what you can expect from Lava Me brand
Loving it. Just got it and practiced a few minutes on it without testing all the features. It’s a bit heavier than my Lava Me 2 guitars and probably 1/3 skinny as well.I remember Lava Me used to include their cool looking pics with their guitars but this particular model did not come with any. I do like the stylish carrying case better than the previous generation because it now includes a pocket where you can store your capo and pics.Overall I love it so far. Good sounding and fret board is the same as the lava me 2 36”. Feels quite premium.

No words…
Madly in loveWith a guitar. Yes she’s small. Doesn’t look like a big rugged boy but for such a little girl, she has a very powerful voice. The presets are a dream very easy to use. The guitar is lightweight, which means I can carry all my other instruments like my flutes and my drums, etc.Big is definitely not better even though it’s more macho …this guitar is more feminine so for those big boys guitar players the small, compact size may be a turn off.I live in Arizona where it’s very dry hot heat, and I do not have to keep it carbon fiber guitar humidified. Just one more thing to do instead of spend the extra time practicing. Those inserts humidify the guitar, which has to be kept in a close guitar case. It was a bit of a hassle. The inserts requires distilled water and it has to be replenished every week. With this guitar, I can keep it on a guitar stand reach out for it anytime I choose to practice. One less chore to have to do.I am on cloud nine

Not as loud as wood
And the tone is a bit tinnier, too, compared to a Taylor GS Mini which is several hundred dollars less. The GS Mini is a 23.5” scale guitar, the Lava Me 2 is 23.62”, not quite 1/8” longer. The GS Mini has 20 frets, the Lava Me 2 only 18 - but you can get to all of them pretty easily. The neck joins the body at the 16th fret instead of the more usual 14th fret.It came with a slight bow in the neck and a fairly high action, a bit over 2mm (.08”) at the high E string 12th fret, and over 3mm at the low E string 12th fret, and it was hard to play higher up the neck above the open chord positions. With no truss rod to adjust all I could do was sand down the Tusq saddle to get it to just under 1.5mm at the 12th fret for the high E string and right around 2mm for the low E at the 12th fret. But then I got some tinny sounding strings above the 12th fret. There is no fall-away in the neck in the higher frets and the neck itself has a slight bow or relief which cannot be adjusted. It is not perfectly straight at standard pitch with the strings it comes with (which are a good choice of gauge, I would not put lighter strings on it because the sound would probably be a bit tinnier). So with no neck adjustment possible I used StewMac’s Fretbar tool to judiciously take down the higher frets just a bit - this did the trick, giving me the action I wanted but still with good clear tone.I like it and will keep it but playing it unamplified side by side with the GS Mini it does not sound as good or as loud. I replaced the Tusq nut and saddle with bone and to my ears this made it sound better, but it's still not as good as wood.

Slimmer, Smarter, and Superior
This is my third lava me guitar, but this one really exceeded my expectations. Like the previous lava me guitars, the lava me air maintains its excellent built quality and lightweight design that I've come to love from this brand. What sets this model apart is that it's noticeably slimmer, making it perfect for long jam sessions. The acoustic sound remains outstanding. The built-in effects are a fantastic bonus. I really like the convenience of turning on the sound effects by just pressing down the knob, I would say it’s a simple improvement from the lava me 3 but brings tremendous convenience. The knob also lights up with different colors corresponding to each sound effect, making it easier to select and switch between them. The end of the neck also lights up along with the knob, which looks really cool. The only thing I wish to have on this guitar is the looping feature from my Lava Me 3. But even without it, the lava me air feels like the future of guitars. If you're considering an upgrade or looking for a versatile, high-quality instrument, this is it. Highly recommend!

Fun guitar with great sound
The sound on this guitar, whether acoustic, with the on-board effects or though an amp, is excellent. If you are in the market for a quality parlor sized “fun” or travel guitar (not necessarily a main or on stage instrument) this is an excellent choice because it is of comparable quality and in the price range of similar good guitars made from traditional materials. I find it to be very easy in the arms and I don’t even notice the short scale length. Everything about it is perfectly proportioned and it is FUN to play.

It’s ok. Kind of toyish
It’s kind of fun and the effects work really well but ultimately it kind of sounds like a toy. I returned mine after a week. It just didn’t fulfill what the description said
