Make It Mini The Lord of the Rings Mini Collectibles - MGA's Miniverse, Blind Packaging, DIY, Resin Play, Replicas, NOT Edible, Collectors, 8+

With some patience and my own resin, I have done it! First of all, I know nothing about LoR. I just like MiniVerse and sharp objects. But I think these are actually my new favorites. Obviously they have to be good to be getting a review. They took some time to cure but the axes DID cure using the provided resin. It just took about 5 minutes under my UV light. The swords however, ha. Don't even try it. I used my own hard type resin to get these guys to cure, and they still took some convincing to get out of the mold. Thankfully cured really well though. And I even made an extra one to prove that the molds CAN be used ;) But once everything was done, I had a blast sanding these guys down and putting them together! 🤣 All in all, I have to get more of these! I can reuse the molds, have some cool little extras, and have some badass weapons too!

I ordered three of the Lord of the Rings Miniverse minis, so had no idea which ones I would get. I ended up with the high elven sword, Sting, and double headed ax. The biggest challenge was mixing the colors. This was most notable with the ax and Sting. Matching both ax heads proved difficult. These cured easily in mid-day sun outside in an hour - rotated halfway through. We also cured them for a few more minutes using a combo 356nm/405nm gel polish light once they were removed from their molds. These need 365nm light. A 405nm light box I use for resin 3d printing did not work at all. The ax resin had burst within the packaging before we opened it, so had limited resin for that model. However, it was enough for two blades. The ax is a noticably different scale than the swords. I suggest running a lighter quickly over the ax before curing to remove bubbles. The swords came with two hits so we could make two models. This was nice for sting to make one blue and the other silver with a hint of blue. I had hoped to do one side silver and the other blue, but this didn't seem like it would work with the included molds. Gently pull the sword molds open from the sides to help remove air bubbles before curing and to remove the swords after curing. Overall the experience was lots of fun. The displays are nice. The models were easy to make for three adults who had never done one of these before. Follow the directions, be careful when filling the molds, and allow plenty of time to cure in the bright sun or with 365nm UV light.

I ordered two and got the exact same thing but I know that’s how this works so I can’t hate. I got the witch king sword and that my least favorite but again it’s how the ball bounces with this . I got them first thing in the morning as expected so that’s always nice . I didn’t even attempt to use the resin included in the kit because of all the reviews saying how difficult it is to work with . I used my own uv resin and mica because i sculpt and I have these things on hand . A tip I can offer to anyone possibly reading this to help them to decide to buy , is heat your resin . I own a heat pad for heating resin and this process makes the resin thinner and easier to fill the mold and decreases the amount of bubbles you get . I also let my filled mold sit on the heated resin mat and let it heat up and I got no bubbles. I also didn’t add the mica first . Mica makes the resin so dense that it almost never curse completely. Use a tooth pic to poke down inside the mold after you add resin to push in the resin to that tiny area , it helps you to get a finished sword with a tip . Don’t leave it in there , just poke it can make a difference in getting a sword with a tip . I bushed on my silver mica after curing . I use a disposable paint brush and add a little resin and mica and brushed on a thin layer to the cured sword and used my uv light to cure. That’s a lot for a beginner to do or even have those things on hand but it’s my experience and I wanted to share . I’m ordering more and I hope I get something different. I think the price is great , even though I didn’t use the included resin I still feel I got my moneys worth. I’m just discovering these neat mini vers things and I just watched lotr movies so I’m super late to the game as it’s 2025 , I’ll just have fun playing catch up.

I thought these were super cool when I first heard of them. But after buying a few and none of them working properly- I tossed them. First- the molds I believe are too thick. Even with A good UV lamp the swords have problems curing. Second the resin containers- they expect you to squeeze them but are of a harder plastic. Way too may air bubbles form in the molds. And at times the molds flood causing air bubbles. I’ve worked with resin plenty of times. This method is poorly executed. Third- the resin itself is not good at all. Even in direct sun 24 hours later it did not cure. And when one of the swords did- it broke in the mold. Cause again the mold is too thick to wiggle the thin blades from. For the people who have had success congrats. But I don’t reccomend these one bit. Waste of money. MGA Just make the weapons already made. People will buy them.

Really cool concept, the packaging is very cute and overall I really like the theme. I would have really enjoyed the collectible but aparentally I am not very good with resin. I tried 3 times following the instructions as written and wasn't able to produce a decent item. 1 had large bubbles, another refused to cure no matter how long I left it in the sun, and the last one was overfilled and the tip popped right off because the cavity didn't fill correctly. Again, it was probably just me not being very good at it, but use your best judgement.

My family and I loved how well themed and detailed this mystery kit is. There is even a mini-map of Middle Earth! Be patient when creating this weapon set. MGA includes enough resin to make 2 of your weapon. I made the first one, and I let it sit outside on a metal/reflective surface all day, because other reviewers had trouble with it not hardening. It worked great, and after stretching the silicone mold, I got my Sting out in one piece. I made a second one for my son with the extra resin and powders. This one broke at the hilt, so I added resin to it, put it back in the mold, and I let it cure outside again. Worked just fine. I'd like to get another one just to try out the other weapons. Overall, this Make-It Mini was fun and full of movie and book nostalgia!

I'm a beginner to resin but I thought something like this would always be beginner friendly. I already have a UV light that I use on nails so I thought running that for fifteen minutes would be good enough to cure my knife. I was wrong. That's on me. Here's the thing about this mistake though. Now I have cured resin trapped in a mold so I can't reuse the mold. There also isn't enough resin to fix my mistake now anyway. I love this concept but if you're not a pro with a really good UV light (and you also probably need mold release), this will not work well. I seriously doubt that curing this for 24 hours in the sun will be any better. If you mess up at all you end up wasting your money. That's depressing. Also - this absolutely is not for children and should be marketed to adults only. Maybe teens.

This little kit gets all the details right, but working with the little silicone molds is tricky. If you're new to resin casting: bubbles are the enemy, especially at this size a bubble will make a big hole in the blade! The little black resin container comes with a long clear tube, the best method is to cut the tube to a sufficient length to reach the bottom of the mold, and fill the mold from the bottom up, not letting up on the squeezing pressure as that will introduce bubbles. You have to squeeze HARD (which is probably not doable for little kids) and fill it ever-so-slightly more than the fill line (resin shrinks a bit as it cures.) Another tip is to bang the mold (carefully- dont spill resin) against a table at all angles to dislodge bubbles before curing. Also: if you have any leftover resin or mica powder, save it for another pour in case you need some more. There are usually a few handles in each kit so you have some to mess up.

I'm happy with my purchase. It's very easy to make and quite fun. Since many reviews complained about resin, I used UV light to cure it and had no issues.

Takes a long time to set. The resin is hard to set and takes about 45 minutes to set under the Australian summer sun. My UV lights don’t work unlike for the other MGA resins that just take a couple of minuets to set this takes much longer

I thought these would be similar to the Harry Potter ones but these are way harder to use and quite frankly badly designed. I got two of the swords and the mould is insanely tiny and the tube for the resin is so thin the resin is too thick for it to go down. The glitter clumps with the resin so the whole mould doesn’t get filled properly. First one I did didn’t cure properly and leaked everywhere The second one cured after an entire day in the sun only for the handle to snap off as soon as I tried to get it out of the mould. The sword ones needs to be designed way better. I will not be buying again.

Excelente para aquellos que vieron el señor de los anillos, y coleccionistas, eso sí no es para todos,y mi consejo: -sean precavidos, y no dejen burbujas en el molde -utilicen una lámpara UV para una rápido secado -revuelvan bien y exparzan la diamantina Por lo demás está excelente para entretenerse
