Better than the later remastered pressing
This original copy was 150% the price of the contemporary remastered version but sounds 250% better so money well spent I reckon. The 180 gramme 2004 remaster I bought and returned sounds fuzzy - this version is clear as a bell and if you care about this sort of thing the cover art is way sharper to boot. Love it. Hey baby, take a walk on the wild side x

covering his amazing ability to write stunning songs and run the gammut ...
Surely to anyone half serious about music this will rate as an all time classic....covering his amazing ability to write stunning songs and run the gammut of emotions this whole album is a roller coaster that will leave you the listener exhausted by the end....but in the best way possible..

Great remaster of a great album
"Transfomer" is by far one of my favourite albums of all time. Lou Reed captured New York's ambience in an unique melodic way. Hits like "Walk on The Wild Side" and lesser known songs like "Make Up" can captivate anyone. The bonus tracks are interesting, but nothing too special. I bought this for the actual album, and didn't get disappointed.

Legend
I love Lou Reed. I love him in the Velvet Underground and I love him as a solo artist. This album is just genius. If you're into soothing music about transvestites then this is definitely the album for you. I think I have recommended it to all of my friends and am buying it for my secret Santa for this Christmas. I just cannot stress enough how much of a 'work of art' this album is. It is refined and sophisticated, especially Andy's Chest, which has been smartened up for to go on this album (although the original is still really good). My personal favorite is Walk On The Wild Side. Listen to it and you will see why. On the whole, though, and to sum up this review: buy the album if you're a fan of good music.

Great songs to sing along to..
Good album with humor. Light listening for a car journey. As a David Bowie fan could see similarities in the song writing and tunes.Still find Perfect Day brilliant..

Listenable Lou Reed Album....!!
Essential listening for any fan of rock music..Marking Lou Reed's entry into the world of more listenable commercial popular music....with much evident input from David Bowie and Mick Ronson..Stand out tracks 'Walk on the Wild Side' and 'Perfect Day' are sublime...Well Recommended....!!

Back to the Sixties
Many years ago I owned "Transformer" in vinyl (yes I am really that old) and loved Lou Reads gravelly voice both on his own and in "Velvet Underground". Of course, "Wild Side" is one on my all time fave pieces of music and if you read the book you really understand what this is all about. Having mislaid my copy (think an ex pinched it) I ordered the dvd and havent stopped playing it. Never fails to send me straight back to the Sixties and the original "Glam Rockers".
