Weighs less than Genuine Ryobi 2.6 AH. Stops charging after 4th charge.
Quit working after 4th charge. Had to jump to another working battery then it charged. Don't know if it's going to charge again though.

Well-Built, Quick Charging and Lasts a Long Time
I recently bought a replacement 40V Ryobi battery, and it charges quickly (relatively) and lasts (a long time). I’m glad that I got it. I’ve used it with my lawn mower and trimmer without any trouble. This battery seems durable and well-built. It hasn’t had much time to show its durability, but I doubt that it’s going to have much trouble. It’s a great backup for my outdoor tools.

Non-OEM lithium-ion batteries
Summary: This is a non-OEM (original equipment manufacturer) battery for a Ryobi 40V tool. I will list out some things to consider when determining if a non-OEM lithium battery is right for you. Background: Lithium has come a long way in terms of consumer confidence, regulatory confidence and reliability. The biggest hazard with lithium is that once catastrophic failure occurs, it's very hard to stop (typical lithium car fire where firefighters pump thousands of gallons on the fire, just to "contain" it). USPS will only ship lithium via ground services, and other carriers will ship smaller size battery packs via air, at a high cost.Recommendations: So what can the average consumer do to protect life and property when using and storing lithium battery packs? For starters, read the manufacturer's recommendation, and more so follow them. Lithium battery packs can fail due to manufacturing defects (such as poor connections), but most times it's probably from either physical damage (e.g. dropped) or poor usage practices (e.g. ran a high power, under high load for a long time, which typically heats to battery pack, and then place it on the charger, without allowing sufficient time for the pack to cool), and lastly poor storage practices (e.g. in a vehicle compartment in high heat).Lithium Best Practices:- when using, don't run the pack until it's completely drained (50% is a good target if you have multiple packs)- allow to cool, before recharging- store at 50% charge- store away from combustible materialsObservations: This offering by SUPOWILL is one of fifteen lithium battery packs they offer for saleThe others packs are: 1) Greenworks 60V @ 5.0AH, 2) Kobalt 40V @ 4.0AH, 3) Ego Power+ 56V @ 5.0AH, 4) Kobalt 80V @ 3.0AH, 5) Worx 40V @ 3.5AH, 7) Dewalt 20/60V @ 9.6 / 12.0AH, 8) Greenworks 24V @ 6.0AH, 9) Makita 40V @ 6.0AH, 10) Worx 20V @ 6.0AH,so six different manufacturers, and many different battery voltages, which is a very diverse assortment, given that all of them have different battery interface and monitoring. SUPOWILL offers 23 products, and mostly they are power tool batteries, and five chargers. For this 40V @ 6.0AH pack, a comparable Ryobi offering (at the Orange Box Store) is $220, as compared to this one at $56, so less than 1/3 the cost; and the lowest cost Ryobi OEM is 2.0AH for $140, over twice the price. What are the trade offs? Unproven reliability, and I'm sure the manual says that using an aftermarket battery will void the warranty (especially if it catastrophically fails). Using this battery pack with the 40V leaf blower, so that's a pretty constant draw item (as compared to a high draw tool like a chainsaw), so that the blower will be kinder and gentler on the battery pack.Pros: Fair fit & finish; similar lithium battery pack offerings (as opposed to only this one offering).Cons: Not really a specialty manufacturer (although they have a few, as stated above); unproven reliability (which is a big deal with lithium batteries). Conclusion: At $56 for a 6.0AH pack, rating this 4-stars (+value, -unproven reliability).

Great value for a spare
I bought this to have a spare for my ryobi weedwhacker and it's been wonderful. I definitely still rely on the ryobi brand name battery, but this has been great if I run out as a backup. I haven't had any issues with it holding a charge or functioning normally. Great value.

Worked once, then it didn't
I got this to use with my Ryobi tools (hedge trimmer, weed whacker, leave blower) and was hoping to use it for my new lawn mower given that it is a 6Ah battery, but I never got that far. The battery arrived in the box and looked great. I put it on an existing Ryobi charger (it was already 1/2 charged) and it charged up with no issues. My yard tools are a bit older and this battery fit on them with no issue, so I hooked it up to the leaf blower and used it to clean the debris out of the garage and clear off the patio and driveway and it worked fine. It was back down to about 1/2 charge or less when I was done so I placed the battery back on the charger - and got the red/green blinking light indicating the battery is defective. Tried a different charger, same result. Tried different batteries on those chargers and they charged fine, so it is the battery. Perhaps I got a bad one, and never got a chance to try it on the new lawn mower, but I can't recommend a battery like this that works once.
