Ease of use! Plug and play install!
Very easy install! It's perfect in its simplicity. Works every time you need it to! No software! No apps! No screens! Just a throttle and the open road baby! I will say, Be sure to get your drop outsize correct. I wouldn't recommend this size motor on potmetal or carbon fiber forks or unreinforced dropouts in frames. It has an intense amount of torque! Which is amazing! And loved the ease of use and plug and play install. There's no extra screens or sensors to install. If you've changed your bike tire or put a chain on a bike. You probably have enough working knowledge to install this kit yourself without a problem. Definitely invest in a large battery. In urban bike friendly areas like in Portland,Denver ect. It's a must-have commuter dream! I'll report back next year and give you an update on the durability. So far though, I'm impressed!

Worked for the first 120 miles, and is now junk...
EDIT: 9/8/24 I had to come back here to update, cuz I was contacted by Hana from Customer Service (CSR), and she handled my concerns like a boss, totally professional, and in the end, I was sent a total replacement kit due to the unavailability of a replacement controller that apparently was faulty and that caused the wheel to lock up... Thank you Hana for going the extra mile for me to resolve this, and I appreciate your help in this matter... I am looking forward to getting back on the road again... Anthony I really liked this unit when I first got it, and installed it... I managed to get about 120 miles of use with it before it suddenly stopped working and left me stranded a few miles from home cuz it felt as tho' something internally gave out and was dragging and causing the wheel to no longer roll freely, somewhat like a bearing going bad on you... The throttle indicator lights remained on (red, yellow, green), but when the throttle was engaged, there was no response... After managing to walk home with it, I flipped the bike over, and tried to turn the front hub by hand, and it was hard to spin, as tho' it was dragging on something... So I started to disconnect the wiring harness, and when I disconnected the 3-wires to the block (blue, green, yellow) the wheel spins freely... My guess is that the controller is bad, or the wheel motor, or both... I'm going to have to replace the unit, and this time I will try someone else...

Buy torque arms!
I don't understand how people are getting the front wheel version to work without torque arms. The motor immediately spread my dropouts and the front wheel popped out. Your forks just aren't designed for the 1000 lbs or so this motor puts on the axle. Buy torque arms so you don't mess up your bike and lose your front wheel. (Definitely get 2 torque arms. The pins come out of that 5-pin plug with a little tab on the inside) 4 stars for being loud and crappy battery monitor. But oh is it fast!

PEDAL ASSIST DOES SAVE BATTERY POWER.
Well I had this kit since 2022 and so far so good it did not disappoint me. I do pedal assist all the time and I believe the motor wheel loves it. I had to buy a second battery because I kept charging the first battery and the first battery would cut off. At that time I did not knowledge of these EBIKE BATTERIES. People be telling me they sees me flying up the street but I still be doing pedal assist. With my new battery if I am going on a long journey I may top the power off but plugging it up no more than 3 hours. OVERALL I am happy with this kit and it was worth the investment. Just watch the bumps in the street

Easy to assemble, easy to light yourself on fire with.
Bought this in November of '20 and installed it just as a first foray into electric biking. Big mistake. My analysis: This controller and kit was wired and built for a motor a quarter of this wattage and with half the voltage. It's a massive fire hazard, and a liability to not only yourself but your surroundings. The kit is not waterproof, but heats up to more than the melting point of any known plastic under even the lightest of loads and shortest of distances. This kit literally melted the power terminals on my battery to the point where I can no longer remove it from the bike. I was also forced to lengthen the controller lines and the little worthless plastic bag it came with? it was melted through less than a month in. I've had to rewire the rest of the bike under the assumption that it would catastrophically fail one day and it has. I write this sitting on the side of the road with my controller literally smoking and melting before my very eyes, stranded miles from home without transportation. Whoever thought 20AWG copper was OK for this needs to consider a career change because this almost caught on fire as I was riding it. If you buy this and any of the other identical reseller kits of this motor, you better skip the wait and refund it now. Apparently the organization who had it before me (a bike shop in California) sent it back to them without even using it! I will update this review when I replace the controller and (again) the wiring to more closely focus on the motor itself.

Use a torque wrench and indexing plates.
Make sure you tighten the hell out of the lugs. If not,it will vibrate loose enought to torque wrap jump the notch and wind up the cord if you don't notice it,it will twist it completely off. Very poor design, it's a pretty cheap set-up but I have given it maticulous mantainance and thoroughly been over every single part with lock-tight. I have put 1700 miles on this hub and it's starting to whine and drone really loudly when there is a load on the hub, it also will jolt back and forth with full throttle as if it's trying to go in reverse. That is from the motor wearing out, but It still trucks along about 35 mph haven't had any real issues with it other than the bolts loosening and it winding up the chord(see video for chord damage from loosened bolts) ,so I can't really complain . I STRONGLY SUGGEST just loc-tite EVERYTHING! And torque everything even the small fasteners get inch\lbs of torque. And I made my own indexing plates out of some sheet-metal to stop the torque wrap. Wish they made a 20 inch with same voltage and output.

Good quality
Straight forward. I am used to one thing but the old school terminal blocks was surprising for the wheel power and the battery. It made it easy to adapt it to my battery pack. The low end power is solid. I still haven't tried it at full speed as that is just too fast but it runs smooth. It's a bit touchy at first to get used to at low power but I am coming from a twist throttle to a thumb throttle ( I will adapt it later to a twist throttle). It seems to be a solid and well built kit and I recommend it over some of the others.

WOW! Beauty
This product worked as advertised. Flawless and very easy to setup and install. I bought 2 units and they work awesome. I bought 2 48 volt, 10 amp hour lithium bottle batteries for the bike and its fast. 43 km is my max speed. I would however advise anyone buying the battery cell for this unit to buy a minimum 17 amp hour battery. I have a batch of 21700 batteries coming soon and I will make a few battery cells with 52 volt and 20 amp hours to try them. It is an exciting time isn;t it? Thanks all Derek

It works!
Assembly of the kit was easier than I expected. One thing that I did not expect was that the disk brake in anterior wheel was not compatible with this. I will buy a rim brake instead.
