Gorgeous book, perfect if you are learning to refinish furniture and beautiful enough to place on your coffee table for decoration. She gives great instructions and steps to easily make a used piece of furniture fab. I really like Amy Howard's tips and I find she's a little more "to the point" than some of the other furniture vloggers, which I appreciate. Who's got time to watch a 30 minute video to learn how to refinish a coffee table? I am excited to try her paint and I have some great plans for replicating the ideas in her book. I highly recommend this book.

some good some bad
She spent to much time on gilding. Other than that she gave really good descriptions of types of finishes. Milk paint, chalk paint, lacquer, etc. I would have liked to learn more about glazing.

I'm OBSESSED with this book!
This is the ONLY book you need if you're brand new to upcycling furniture. Seriously, I purchased a few other books, but this is the only one I use. The author includes a handful of upcycling projects with detailed instructions and pictures to walk you through every technique you'll ever use. If you try out each project, by the end of the book you'll be an expert at everything from furniture to upholstery to lamps and decor. BUY THIS BOOK.

Very helpful book!
I've been wanting to transform a chest of drawers I found for $15 at a thrift store with great lines, but have been intimidated by the process. With the help of this book, I decided to just get started. Great instructions and ideas. Will definitely refer to it often!

Beautiful and inspiring
I just received this book today after preordering in February. The book contains beautiful photographs of refinished/refurbished furniture and accessories, informative chapters on using milk and chalk paints, inspiring project ideas and much, much more. I can't wait to try some of the techniques outlined in the book.

Better than expected (A must have)
This book is amazing and has about 190 pages full of colourful glossy pictures. It illustrates step by step techniques from start to finish. Including really good tips and invaluable information.
