Good for geese too.
The best waterer. So easy to clean. I had an issue with two of them I bought more than one year ago. They had cracked near the front. I contacted the manufacture. Within one day they contacted me and are replacing them both. I had bought another one more recently and they had changed their design to keep it from cracking. Excellent customer service, excellent design and improvement. You can't ask more of any company

Worked for 2 months then Broke
Purchased two of these. They have been used for three months so far, not used in direct sunlight and not abused in any way shape or form. I came out today to check on my chickens water and both of my 5 gallon buckets were bone dry. Both watering devices apparently have broken within the same amount of time. There is a hairline crack in one of them and a larger crack in the second which allowed 10 gallons of water to leak out within a matter of two days. These watering devices were never abused and were always used/removed from the bucket in the way the manufacturer describes, Which is by using the trough on the front to help the removal of the device, and this is exactly where both of the cracks in the device are located. Luckily we did not discover this after coming home from vacation otherwise, all of our chickens would be dead.

Works great
I just got it and I can’t wait to use it. The plastic looks very durable much better than the ones I’ve used in the past that only lasted less than a year. (different company.)

Design needs some work.
Great idea but isn't working out. I had to try multiple buckets before finding one that kinda fits properly. If its not on a perfect level ground it leaks out. Since it still doesn't have a tight snap,, lid comes off when I flip it over.

Not good for manual use
If you are planning to use this style of waterer by manual filling rather than via the direct hose connection, skip it and choose another option. For starters, the value isn’t there for the price point. To fill and then flip a 5 gallon bucket of water is cumbersome and messy. There are always spills. The bottom of the tray is not flat. Anyone with chickens knows you need to keep the waterer up off ground level or if gets filthy instantly. You can’t set this on top of something without it wobbling because the base isn’t flat. Further, if you don’t get it set evenly, water will continue to flow out of your bucket. The attachment tray has some very small crevices making it difficult to get completely clean of all the scum that can build up after a few days, especially in hot weather. The tray has to attach just right so it’s lined up with the handle of your bucket if you plan on pulling your handle up to carry your filled bucket (I fill, attach the tray so I don’t spill, pull up the handle and carry to the coop). They way I’d think to hold and flip the filled bucket with tray attached is backwards from how it actually needs to be done. Overall, I wouldn’t spend money on this again or recommend. After trying this, I prefer waterers that are already upright with a removable lid so they are easy to fill. Only pro really is that 5 gallons is a nice quantity to have available for my flock of 19.

Sturdy
The watered as a whole is great. It fits on top of a five gallon bucket easily. Follow the directions on how to do it. The self fill feature did not work for me. Guess my water pressure is not enough. It’s easy to clean and very sturdy. If you have to fill it manually, it prevents water from sloshing out of bucket while putting it in coup.
