Smithsonian Build the Rocket

Cool rocket for parent/child collaboration
My 5 year old got this a while ago and it sat on a shelf for a while. We pulled it out as a rainy day activity. It's pretty neat to build something so big from cardboard - it even correctly has the stages and lander. Yes the instructions arent super clear (although you just match the numbers together ultimately) and if you're not careful you can totally break parts (some pieces fit better than others). But hey, I figure it's made of cardboard right? My five year was able to do a pretty good part of it with help of course!

Fun and challenging
It is very cool and tall set. Was fun putting together! The only down part though the smaller parts the harder it is to attach them to each other without bending it.

Husband and grown children had a blast
Because most family events are now remote, three rockets were built in three cities over Zoom. A great time was had by all!

Not for young children.
The instructions suck. They are not clear and very frustrating. My six year old was able to punch out the pieces and the first stage was easily assembled. However the last two stages took three adults and lots of glue as it kept falling apart! Even after letting the glue dry 24 hours, it still fell apart. I would not recommend this for anyone without the patience of a saint and undr the age of 13.

Such a fun activity!
We had the best time building this rocket as a family! It was a lot of fun and I’m glad we were able to complete it in about an hour! So cool!

Entertaining
My son loves these toys BUT we both get frustrated putting some parts together when the cardboard is bent easily or thicker and then expands.
