The fan looks nice and pushes the air round as it should
The fan looks nice and pushes the air round as it should. Putting it together i a bit of a faff, the instructions arent helpful and you have to go on intuition. So, for info:Attach the stem to the base first, pull the silver inner stem out about 10cm before you do. Once secured to the base (pretty obvious how), fit the motor part onto the top end of the silver inner stem and secure using the side screw attached. The fan-part, as delivered, needs to be taken apart. Remove the silver screw from one side and the black cap from the other, the screw holds the cap on. You will not need either again. Unscrew the large black cap from the motor part and retain, then slide the back mesh disc onto the spindle - it holds in place using a single lug that fits into one of the holes around the centre of the mesh disc. Then slide the fan onto the spindle and secure it with the two lugs on the spindle. Finally, lock in place with the large black cap which you screw into the end of the spindle . Finally, offer up the front mesh disc and secure with the circular rim - which will need tightening using the very small screw on the side.Switch the fan on using the controls on the motor part and then you can use the remote control - you will need 2xAAA batteries for the remote.

Not easy to assemble
As a single mum of several years I have become handy at some basic DIY. However this was something else! Should have been as simple as other fans I have assembled, but far from it. Screws were tightened anti clockwise, the loop was a thin strip to hold the guard’s together, could have done with 2 people, to fit those. Instructions were pretty useless. However early days but the fan seems quite powerful and does a fair job of cooling a medium room.

Blow me down
Bought this to use on whilst on my bicyle turbo trainer. I still drip but now it takes longer and I dry quicker. The remote control has a bit of a cheap-and-nasty feel but it works, controls everything it needs to control and saves me getting off the bike to press buttons. The fan itself has three settings: breezy, windy and blow your hat off. Its powerful but the harder it blows the noisier it gets. On any setting you probably wouldn’t want it in your bedroom. The oscillation is good and swichable and the fan has a reasonable up and down range of adjustment. It’s a good and powerful product with which I am pleased.

The instructions are awful, the fan seems OK
The instructions are 'Chinglish'.They don't mention that the 'nut' (part 3) you have to remove to mount the fan has a RIGHT-hand thread instead of the normal left-hand thread. If you look very carefully at the nut it is embossed with 'tighten' & 'loosen'.I also had to loosen the three screws holding the bit in the middle of the front protector to remove the protective plastic.Assembling that into the hoop was very fiddly, and easier with the upper part removed and laid on it's back. Finally the packing isn't great - the first one arrived damage, though no problems getting a replacement and bonus, that leaves me with a spare remote control.

Great
Use for running on treadmill and it is great. Three speeds and remote control very useful.

Missing a part and turns itself off?
I was a bit nervous after reading some of the reviews on this product - but I thought I would take the plunge. After all, if it didn't work I'd just refund it and call it a day.The fan arrived promptly, no issues there. Unfortunately, however, that's where things took a turn for the worse. I understand what people say when the instructions are a bit vague, don't worry too much about that though. A bit of common sense and reading the booklet about 50 times and you'll get there. It took me roughly 20 minutes to get it built, unfortunately, however, towards the end of setting it up I noticed something.Where was the bit that I needed to attach the front screen protecting the blades to the back of the fan? Simple answer: It wasn't thereAlthough being advertised in the booklet as being the 'loop' or whatever it's called, to attach the two halves together, it simply wasn't there. I disassembled the entire fan and looked around in the base to see if it was stashed away anywhere, but no, it just wasn't there. What I was left with was a fan that was extremely dangerous to operate as there was no front panel to cover the blades and stop people from catching their fingers. The only way I was able to avert this was to use cable ties to lock the protector in place manually, but I was just lucky that we had some to hand. Especially as this was ordered during a heatwave here in the UK, this was a massive disappointment and quite frankly I don't think I'll ever be purchasing from Expressco Direct or Jack Stonehouse again, seeing as currently I find them to be unreliable. I'd be happy to be proven wrong, however.Once I had 'DIY-d' the fan together, it actually works rather well. It has decent power, and the remote is handy. However I can't sit by and give it more than one star when it doesn't even come with all the parts you need to assemble the darn thing. I've had a few instances where it turns itself off, but I'm not sure if that's me being silly and not understanding the auto switch-off settings, which are a thing.I've already messaged the seller and am waiting to hear back. But sending things out with parts missing? That's just sloppy.Buy it- if you fancy trying your luck that you'll actually have the parts to assemble the thing. Otherwise, I'd steer clear, there are other fans you can get that are probably much better that are actually able to be assembled. See the attached photo showing how we had to use cable ties to get the screens to stay together.PROS:Decent speedRemote is handyTimer settings that switch it off automaticallyCONS:Missing a part so couldn't assemble without 3rd party toolsInstructions are a bit vagueHave had two instances already where it's turned itself off inexplicably
