My 4 year old loves this. It struggles up a hill with several train cars, and doesn’t like those short, sharp bends but it’s super fun, lasts pretty well on a charge, great sound effects and the tunnel is a great addition, even though it has female connectors on both ends.

Exactly what you're looking for. My son has a lot of fun with it. It makes noise at a good level that isn't annoying if you're sensitive to annoying noises. The battery life is really long and I haven't changed them after 4 months of use. Very easy to use and the value is really great.

Update. I realized that I had made a mistake. The tunnel has to be used with a special part shown on 2nd pic to fit all railway parts. And I found it. --------------------------- The train head itself works fine and my kid enjoys playing with it. However, the tunnel design is very disappointing. Normally, a railway piece should have one male connector on one side and one female on the other, so it can easily connect with the rest of the track system. Unfortunately, this tunnel has female connectors on both sides, which makes it almost useless — you can't directly attach it to the standard track without some kind of workaround or extra adapter. Very frustrating for something that should have been such a simple and standard design. If you’re buying this set expecting a fully functional tunnel, be aware of this serious flaw.

Really liked this train set. It works well on my wood train track, has a lot of power to make it up hills, is very durable (it has taken a beating from my 1 year old grandson and is still in great shape), and looks nice. Only negative is that the magnet connections drag when not hooked up. My track is screwed down so it can sometimes hang up on a screw. To fix that I put electrical tape over the screws. All in all, nice product.

This little blue wonder is what I would want my children to be if they were a steam engine. Steady, powerful, and consistent, with the veracity, drive, and resilience of an American rock badger. With the elegance of a Bernini sculpture, and the torque and tenacity strong enough to get my ex-wife to show up in court, this little engine doesn’t think it can, it knows it can and does it with unparalleled majesty. Truly worth the purchase. I bought this little steam engine engine, but it ended up purchasing my heart.

My son was excited to play with this. It worked really well but just yesterday it stopped working. We had it charging for 4 hours yesterday and it didn’t work. Then we had it charging for 8 hours today and nothing. So disappointed and my kid is so sad.

This is very, very cute and worth the money IMO. However, It’s a little bit fragile so I can see where it could break very easily if played rough with. But my 2 1/2-year-old grandson just loved this. I would definitely buy more. 👍

My son loves trains and this was a great addition to his collection! It’s compatible with wooden Thomas the train tracks, very easy to use, and good value for the money! The traction and battery life are great and it’s not too noisy!
