Useful alternative to get into mouth taping. May help some folks overcome resistance because you can open your mouth with this tape in place. Basically causes your lips to purse, but you could breathe through your lips or even speak with this attached. You have to stretch it when applying or it does nothing. Professionally designed, and fairly priced, considering some others. As a next training step, you can add a small square of micropore tape over the center that doesn’t actually stick to your lips. I’m one of those people whose sleep quality has really benefited enormously from mouth taping.

3 problems. I have been buying (and liking) MyoTape’s mouth tape for sleeping for a long time. However, they must be under new management because they changed their packaging and introduced 3 problems: 1) They have literally tripled the price. 2) the tape backing is a pain to take off, it now rips of into 4-5 pieces, so makes a mess 3) the tape is stickier, leaves more residue when you take it off in the morning. They took a good product and made it significantly worse.

My Myofunctional Therapist recommended this brand to me late last year. I tried it and it was a game changer! I had been using a terrible head strap with my CPAP that caused me so much jaw tension. The tape was a gigantic upgrade. So much more comfortable. Kept my mouth closed most the time without the constricting feeling that I COULDN'T open my mouth. I thought the black lip design was weird and looked more like coffee beans, but not a big deal. However, once I ran out of my 3 month supply the product seemed to change entirely! The product looked different on Amazon but I just thought they changed the packaging and made a solid skin color design - cool. NOOOO. The whole product changed. FOR THE WORSE. We had a good thing going, why the bait and switch???? It's now harder to take the backing off and ends up folding on itself. I've had a few casualties, which is a waste of money. And the adhesive is way more sticky and leaves residue on my face that is practically impossible to get off. Prepare for a daily intense exfoliation while trying to rub this sticky crap off your face! It's like you need Goo Gone to get it off. Yuck. And then I still find little pieces of it as I'm applying makeup. The worst. I felt it was practically perfect. Why ruin it???? I wish there was a sensitive skin option this kept the old design for those of us that don't want to stick a piece of duct tape across our mouth! For those of you that want something so strong, you could literally use duct tape because that's what this feels like! This was like a 4.5 star product before it was ruined. Now it's maybe a 2. I'll be looking for another brand that executed this better.

UPDATE: kindly note that they do make a version specifically designed for beards. My bearded friend has used both and much prefers the design for beards (the tape is solid black so you won’t mix them up if you happen to have both). Recommended by my myofunctional therapist since it actually activates your muscles instead of just having the tape hold your lips together. I used to use 3m surgical tape (a small, vertical strip as adviced in Breath by James Nestor) to allow for airflow on the sides, but it felt restrictive and there’s something about having your mouth taped shut that’s disconcerting when you’re trying to fall asleep. I love that you can mouth breath if you absolutely need to with this tape, and it’s really nice to be able to still talk or take a sip of water or cough or sneeze. It’s also less restrictive/confusing/alarming to wake up with this tape (as opposed to having my mouth taped completely shut) if I happen to wake up in the night. When this tape works well it’s practically perfect, and when it doesn’t work well it’s because I had lotion or chapstick preventing it from sticking. It helps to cleanse the area first, press on firmly, and then apply chapstick or lotion after it’s stuck on properly. I haven’t had any breakouts or irritation and find the adhesive to be just right— so long as my skin is lotion-free before applying! I recently had my tongue tie released and between that procedure, myofuntional therapy, and mouth tape, I’m breathing easy for the first time in my life. I’m working with an airway dentist to expand my airway for a permanent solution (going to take a while), but in the mean time I’m grateful for this tape! She recommended a nasal strip, Xclear xylitol spray, and mouth taping every night. It’s been a total game changer for me and my family members who have been willing to try.

This works for me. I needed something to keep my mouth closed while sleeping. I can still open my mouth a bit, as it does stretch slightly, but it does keep my lips together. It allows me to sleep better as I am not waking up with a dry mouth and thirsty anymore. I am a small woman, and it is a bit too small but still worked. It is not very comfortable, but worth it to sleep. Pulling it off does hurt slightly but doesn't last long or make any marks. It does pull off hair so no need for waxing!

These are useless. They don’t work and will not stay on. It was a complete waste of money and not eligible for return. Stay away from this product.

For years my wife suffered through my obnoxious snoring. There was no way I was going the CPAP route unless a doctor told me there was a medical reason to do so. I ran across the (regular) version of Myotape online pretty much by accident. It seemed gimmicky, but the price was low enough that I decided, what the hell, I'll try it. Ordered the 99 pack of the beard version. One: the general concept of mouth taping worked immediately and "as advertised". My problem went away literally "over night". Two, while I see from other reviews that the beard adhesion does not work for some others, it has worked fine for me (note that I have a mustache/goatee, not a full beard, and I am able to reach some skin left and right of my lips - and in any case my stache/goatee is not thick). Don't know that I have experienced any of the other supposed nose-breathing benefits, like better sleep or fresher mouth - but that's not what I got it for. My wife loves the silence. I never notice it being on until after waking up in the morning. Couldn't be more satisfied.

Sticky residue and yet not effective at advesive: i bought small size not good fit & doesn’t keep mouth sealed well. Waste of money bc 1 of every 4 don’t stick at all. tape leaves sticky residue & tingly feel that does not go away. Mouth hole too large & tape sticky and not always effective bc too loose/not resistant to stretching once on face

Really helps in training against snoring.

I didn't find these easy at first. Much better than straight up taping of the mouth. And it was challenging at first. After persisting on using these over time every once in a while, I can see these are well worth the money. After all - gettig eough oxygen overnight is very important. And that didn't make sense till recently. Placing a tape over the mouth instead of around the mouth can be damaging to a sense of safety. This is worth trying out for longer, if you fid other tapes too much.
