Useful product, works as expected
As a novice gardener, I was confused why some of my plants in the same bed were thriving whereas others looked a bit sad. This product is easy to use and gives lots of useful information especially soil PH and moisture levels which will hopefully help me with my plants. How long the product lasts, only time will tell.

Useful for moisture reading. Other readings not so much.
This soil meter arrived fairly quickly and was packaged well. The meter is very easy to use. It's sturdy enough to poke into soil that's a bit hard. The tilting meter head is great for reading since you can turn it to look from straight above. In practice, the most useful function is the moisture level. I tested it in a pot and added water a few times, testing after each addition. It was pretty responsive to the differing moisture levels, so I have confidence that that measurement is useful. The light meter is somewhat useful in my greenhouse as I'll be able to see how much light is passing through my shading material. The meter pegs in full sun, so it's really only useful for uses such as a greenhouse. The ph meter requires that the post be cleaned each time ph is measured, so I really won't be using that feature. The fertility reading also requires prepping the post, so that reading is not handy either.Overall, the moisture level is very handy and has proven useful. The rest of the readings are not so useful for me. The meter is substantial and well made.

mostly useful for moisture
I thought I was buying two different soil meters; I though the photo was different and one was definitely described as fluorescent green, but they are both mint green. It is not a huge deal but it means I got two of the same instead of two different. They came in the same box but were oddly packaged differently inside.I wanted to compare at least two different models for accuracy. Unfortunately, another digital pH meter that I ordered didn't work at all. On top of that, you can't use these to test liquid water so I couldn't compare against something like distilled water. The light meter does register but full sun pegs the needle so I don't think it's much use outside although it could be useful for measuring sunlight that reaches house plants (instructions say it only works in sunlight, not artificial light.)The two meters (same model) are in reasonable agreement in the soil. The instructions should say that the soil has to be moist to measure fertility and pH. It seems obvious, but the instructions should still say that.Fertility is a combination of moisture, pH and nutrients so I'm not sure how useful that is but the measure did go up when I poured liquid fertilizer nearby. You also have to sand the probe every time you use it for pH which means it's not simpler to use, but that makes sense because oxidation of the metal could affect the reading. Because I can't use it in liquid water, one thing I did do is measure the pH of wet coffee grounds and it did register as more acidic than my soil; which is what I expected. The way you can tilt the head to read the meter is very useful!Mainly, I will just use this as a moisture meter.

Full disclosure, I'm an inexperienced gardener so this little tester is really helpful.
I had tried different soil testing kits, mix soil with water, let it sit etc. Those work and have helped me tune up the soil and get better results. But this tester is much much easier to use, has more functionally and is likely more accurate.I did a side by side with some recently purchased PH sticks. Along with getting the same reading from both of was clear that the Cubeta tester was easier to read. In addition, this gave me the chance to learn a few more things about what I can be looking out for than I was previously aware of.So for the newer gardener, this gives us a leg up. For the pros, I'd say this is a well made quality device that would likely be a good tool to have in your gardening tool kit.Thank you and this is well recommended.
