I have bought 10 pairs of these sandals over the years because they're so comfortable. I have had to replace two pairs, the black and tan ones, several times because I wear those colors the most. These new sandals are bigger than all of the previous ones -- the stretch strap that goes across the foot always fit great and lightly hugged my feet but now there's a gap and the sandals don't stay on as well. I'm still keeping them but I really wish they would make them like they first made them. The soles on these sandals wear out and you end up with rips in the spots where your feet apply the most pressure. When they were made under the name Calisto, the soles were much better and the sandals that I still have with those soles are still in good shape although maybe a bit thinner from the many years of wear. Of importance is that I wear a size larger in this shoe than in any other shoe I've ever purchased. It's always been that way and it's very odd that they don't size them as every other shoe company does. It sure would help so people who order them for the first time don't have to exchange them.

Summer 2015: Normally a 6.5 (36.5) I ordered two pairs of these sandals in size 7, the size marked on all 5 pairs that I've had for a number of years. I have a narrow foot and the older sandals in this style fit snugly, after much wear. The new ones (bought to replace pairs in which a thong finally pulled away from the sole) are both too long and too wide, so I've returned them.Update a year later: Desperate to have replacements, I ordered three pairs in size 6, and they fit properly. BUT: (perhaps after complaints of wide elastic?) the manufacturer has stitched a band of leather/synthetic material under the forward half of the elastic* that prevents the front half from stretching. While the fit is ok, the added material, unlike the soft elastic, is stiff and its edges rub the foot. The new version is not nearly as comfortable as teethe old were, and I'm likely to return the unworn pairs. *Look closely at the photo and you will see a row of stitching running across the elastic band midway between its front and back.

I have been wearing this particular shoe for years and love them. I must admit that at one time they were made with a leather sole instead of the man made except the man made seems to last for me. I own two pairs in black and one pair in Kahai at the present. I have been trying to locate another pair in red in my size and it's unavailable. I do hope that now Spring is around the corner new colors will become available. The shoe is comfortable and stays on your foot even though it's a thong. I would highly recommend it to anyone unless you have an extremely wide foot. The elastic might be uncomfortable if your foot is wide.

I love this sandal and this is the fourth pair I have purchased since 2006. However, I found that the pair I just purchased is a bit wider and they don't have the elasticity like the ones that I purchased previously. I will keep the ones that I just bought because I like them too much to return them. Perhaps the manufacturer should be aware of this fact. When I purchase my next pair, I think I'll go down a size; they might fit a little tighter. If the sizing is better with my next purchase, I'll give it a 5-star!

Nearly five years ago, I found this exact sandal in a small boutique in Boca Raton, Florida. Have been trying to chase-down another pair ever since. My feet are a true 10 Narrow, and it's difficult for me to find sandals that fit and are comfortable for walking. Although these are 'mediums' the elasticity in the top piece comfortably holds my foot. Side-by-side, the 5-year-old brown pair look almost identical to these new black pair: very minor signs of wear. I'd buy a pair in a variety of colors if I could find my size. These are my all time favorite sandals.

Sizing may be a little small so order up.They are not of the fine quality they used to be. I have a pair that is probably 5 years old and the are holding up very well. The sole was of a little different design with more arch support and a bit thicker sole---much better support and way more comfortable than these.The old pair I have was well worth $70 ---this new pair is probably worth $25.

A little shorter than I expected, but I wore them several hours yesterday and believe I will still enjoy them this summer.I have a silver pair that are 5 or 6 years old. Unfortunately, they are showing some wear, Thought I'd try the same shoein red this summer. This is a shoe I really like when I want to be comfortable.
