If you have ever enjoyed Cher — her music, her acting, her appearance — this is a must read. An inspiring and uplifting account of a life well-lived. Conversational in tone, candid and humble. I loved every minute.

Looking forward to book two. This was my music era so reading of Cher’s experiences with the up and coming as well as the stars of the time was a revelation.

I enjoyed the book, although some areas I just skimmed over. What a life! Never a dull moment. Cher states that Sonny married a lady named Sarah and Chas was a bridesmaid. Who is this lady? Does she mean Susie C.? Sonny Bono also wrote an autobiography in the 90’s. It is interesting to compare how they each describe the same situation. Cher accepts no blame. Sonny did at least apologize for what it is worth.A must read if you are a fan of Cher.

Interesting book with great stories. What more can you say? It's Cher! She is such a fascinating, real, down-to-earth woman. I can't lie; I have been a fan since The Cher Show when I was a kid. This book holds your interest. She is one of a kind!

I am a millennial and Cher has been in presence through my entire life. I knew she was awesome, but boy I didn’t know the half. her relationship with Sonny, her crazy childhood, and her fight to rise and rise again, are fascinating and inspiring reading. I burned through this in a few days and can’t wait for the second half.Meanwhile, I’ll be over here watching Moonstruck, since I suspect that’ll feature large in book 2!

Being an avid fan of Cher I wanted to read her book to understand her life. The book explains her younger years and the foundation set. The constant moving and changes of boyfriends and husbands for her mother explains her lack of confidence. She never knew what would happen next. If she had childhood friends to grow up with, her understanding of life would have been different. Her mixed up understandings helped Sonny created a situation where he could control her and do whatever he wanted. She wrongly put her whole trust in him to never treat her wrong or screw her over like he did. She wasn't shy as he often stated she was immature and gullible. She could have gone farther and faster without his egotistical control. Watching their show years ago I wondered what his control of her was. To me their was a unhealthy control he had on Cher, although they said it was a part of a "funny skit" it was, but I believed she was afraid to make a move on her own. Finally one day she did, and her real life experiences started. I would recommend the book and I hope part 2 is written and published soon. (Not a paid or influenced review).

I thought I knew who Cher was, but I definitely didn’t. What a formidable woman and beautiful soul. I devoured this in a day and now have to impatiently wait for part two. It will be worth every excruciating minute.

The hype on TV with all the interviews were all for a reason.Cher's new book, Cher: The Memoir: Part One is not letting me down.I already know most of these stories about my idol's life but I am pleasantly surprised to learn many new unheard of stories.Great book for a fan and good book to learn about the best celebrity of all time.

As you would expect from one so fascinating....This book is a really good , surprising read. If (like me) you have been a fan for 40 years plus...there isn't much that is new...but a very interesting story nonetheless.Some good photos included from Cher's own archive. Surprisingly honest (she doesn't sugar coat to make herself seem better, trust me! haha) Buy this, you will love it!

Arrived undamaged. Beautiful cover & pages are thin but eco friendly paper though font seems smaller than otjer hard back books but my eyes could be getting worse! Lovely glossy pages of b/w & colour images in 3 batches. Only just started reading it but already hooked in. I remember Sonny & Cher as a kid in 60s & still love her today. Great sense of humour & doesn't sugar coat anything. Look forward to Part 2!
