These are great! They’re a science toy for all ages, a wonderful decorative accent in vases around the house, and can be a houseplant’s best friend! I’ve known people to use these to keep the soil in their houseplants moist. But mostly, they’re just a lot of fun!I snipped open a tiny corner of the pack of 10,000 and poured a single layer into the bottom of a glass vase. I filled the rest of the vase with water (before getting my “before” photo) and left them to swell overnight. By the next morning… well, see for yourself! If you want to dehydrate them again, spread them out in a single layer on paper towels so they can dry out. I suggest changing the towels every day. A fan might speed things along, too. But: Please, for your own sanity, don’t wet all 10,000 of them at once! Remember the Tribbles from Star Trek? Yeah. Like that. Only… squidgy!

This is the first time I bought water beads in a color, and I must say that this blue is simply beautiful. I already have them in clear, and I wish I had bought these long ago. I soaked them overnight (they need only 4-6 hours) and they had expanded to their full size by morning. I added them to a large tall flower vase that had a middle cylinder for flowers, and the look is striking. If you are looking for something eye-catching, these water beads in the blue color will definitely get noticed. These beads are also a good value and I can see them being used in decorative table centerpieces at large events.
