Reliable, beautiful, and safe—but mix carefully
I’ve been using Tall Earth’s Eco-Safe Wood Treatment for over five years now across all kinds of projects—raised garden beds, a chicken coop, a pergola, and even an old split-rail fence. It’s become my go-to because it checks every box: non-toxic, long-lasting, and it gives the wood this gorgeous, weathered silvery-gray look over time that really adds character.I also love that I can apply it once and not worry about re-treating every year. That alone has saved me a ton of time. The treated wood has held up incredibly well—even in our damp Pacific Northwest climate—with no rot or insect issues. It’s also comforting to know that it’s safe around food plants, pets, and kids. The only thing I’ll say is that mixing it takes a little patience. It’s not hard, but the powder can clump if you’re not stirring carefully, especially in cold water. I usually let it sit a bit and then give it a good shake or stir before applying. That small extra step is well worth it, though. This is a product that actually delivers—affordable, effective, and environmentally sound. I always keep a packet or two on hand.

Very easy to mix, apply and cleanup. No smell.
Really easy to mix and apply. I mixed it in a container with a cap and shook it and that worked perfectly. Very thin, I started with a roller but it dripped too much so I used a large paint brush and that worked perfectly. I was able to use the 1gal size for 4 raised bed gardens that were 4x8 and had some left over.

My beehives are safe
Absolutely love this stuff. I was looking for something to protect my beehives and I didn't trust paint or stain. Really hope it works like advertised

Did not work on raised beds
We re-made our cedar raised beds in 2018, using this product. The second year after treatment, I noticed a white fungus on the ends of the beds, and through the next several years it continued to grow. We have extensive rot now, and need to replace the beds. The first time we installed cedar raised beds, they lasted 10 years with no treatment. This iteration of beds lasted 6-7 years, using the Tall Earth product. Not the results we hopped for. Also, now that I'm older and wiser- don't use a product if the ingredients are not stated, and there is no link to any verifiable testing results. Lesson learned.
