I like this - my go-to for one pot meals
I've cooked around 15 meals in this so far. I start out at low heat, warm it up and then raise it to medium low. 15 minutes my one pot meal has to cool down to eat. I have a Korean and a Japanese one pot ceramic cookers but they are a bit small to cram everything in for a meal. This is bigger than I need so I fill it about 2/3rds full and have a filling meal with 5 minutes prep, 15 minutes warming on the stove, 15 minutes at the higher temp and 15 minutes cooling as the pot holds heat very well. I don't have to stand over the stove and it delivers some very good (and healthy) meals. Big enough that I could make meals for two if I needed. Experimenting with different veggies and meats keeps this interesting - sometimes with Asian produce & seasonings and sometimes not.

THE FIRST POT DID NOT MAKE THE TRIP SUCCESSFULLY...
WHEREUPON I IMMEDIATELY ORDERED A SECOND...IT HAS BEEN A LONG JOURNEY AND I HAVE HAD TO ORDER ANOTHER POT THIS MORNING AS I DROPPED MY LATEST INCARNATION OF THE CLAY POT!!!!! ONCE YOU COOK WITH THIS KOREAN POT, YOU WILL ALWAYS BUY THEM -NO MATTER WHAT- ANOTHER ODD THING IS THAT FOR SOME REASON THE COVERS HAVE NEVER BROKEN. SHOULD ANYONE NEED A COVER JUST ASK!!!

Beware that the Clays Can Come Off the Pot
I only used the pot on my Samsung (almost brand new) electric cooktop three times, which should be compatible with the pot according to the descriptions on Amazon website and other reviews I read before making the purchase. It was fine the first two times I used it but then at the third time, the bottom of the pot developed little, tiny holes and the clays in these holes chipped off and the clays went into the soup I was making. It was horrifying. It was a good thing we found out and had to throw the food away. It was so disappointing as I had high hope for the pot. I don't know whether I happened to receive a defective pot or it does not work with my Samsung electric cook top (which will be very surprising to me.)

Innovation within tradition
This is a heavy stoneware pot which looks traditional but incorporates innovations that make it more sturdy. I use it to cook grain and legumes. It makes excellent einkorn, brown rice, and French lentils. Start the heat level low and then raise it slightly. For rice, less water is needed. Rice made with this pot is somewhat softer in taste than rice made in a stainless stell pot. Both grains and lentils can be gently cooked until there is no water and a slight caramelization. With rice, a small amount of soy or une vinegar can then be added once the rice cools slightly, making the caramelized rice easy to remove from the bottom. In other words, this pot allows some interesting different approaches with simple food.

There are slight problems with the craftsmanship but it doesn't affect the purpose of the pot. It retains the heat so well that the pot is still hot after dinner. Highly Recommended
