Great for cooking in the Instant Pot, but also useful as a multi-purpose kitchen strainer
I bought this basket primarily for my 8-quart Instant Pot, but can also use it in my 10-quart pressure cooker that is a different brand. It fits my 8-quart IP perfectly. If the handle seems loose, it can be tightened by taking it off the basket, stretching it a bit, and putting it back on the basket. After this it will stay tight. I have never put this basket into the dishwasher, and clean it with warm soapy water and a brush. So far, cleaning has been a breeze, and I have seen no signs of rust. Something else that I like about this steamer basket is that it can also be used as a strainer to rinse beans and to wash and drain fresh veggies. It has many more uses than just as a steamer in a pressure cooker. UPDATE 06/08/19: I have had this steamer basket for over a year, and, so far, there is absolutely no rust on it. It is the largest of my steamer baskets and fits my 8 qt. pressure cookers perfectly. Since I already have a few strainers of different sizes, and this is the largest of the baskets I have, I have been using this steamer basket primarily for steaming in an 8 quart Foodi.. Since I grow mushrooms and steam them for freezing, I have been using this steamer basket multiple times daily. It has become the only steamer basket that I use and, judging from my experience with it, would recommend it. UPDATE 02/01/20: I have had this steamer basket for over 18 months, and still no rust even though I use it in my pressure cooker at least twice a week to steam veggies that I grow indoors for my family. Since this basket uses most of the space available in the pressure cooker, I can steam large batches of veggies that I package for freezing. The advantage of steaming vs. blanching in water is that vitamins are retained in the foods, and you don't lose any of the vitamin content in the water. I used to saute my veggie greens with onions and garlic, and found that many of them developed a bitter aftertaste. Since I started steaming them, they have not had the bitter taste that previously had to be covered up with flavorings. To be honest, when I was sauteing my greens, I never tasted the onions and garlic anyway. By steaming the greens in the pressure cooker, and leaving out the onions and garlic, I save a lot of chopping time, and I don't have to babysit the greens as they wilt. I also save the cost of the garlic and onions I was using. All around a big plus for steaming greens in the pressure cooker. In addition, steaming greens save a lot of "hands-on" time. I used to stand over the stove sauteing greens and adding a handful at a time as the greens wilted. For a large batch of greens, this often took 45 minutes or more of my time. Now, I fill this basket over the top with cut greens, and steam them in the pressure cooker for 3-5 minutes depending on the thickness of the leaves. When they are done, I dump them into very large strainer to cool and drain, and set up the next batch. Once they are cooled, I package them for freezing. Not only is this so much easier, but steaming retains more of the nutrients in the greens and veggies and they all taste better. UPDATE 07/09/20: I have had this steamer basket for about 2 1/2 years now, and it is used two or more times every week. To-date, it still looks like new with absolutely rust and no damage to the netting. I do wash it by hand, but it cleans up so easily this isn't a problem for me. I hope this review was helpful for you. I will update it if my opinion of this steamer basket changes.

Perfect size
This steamer basket is perfect for my 3 qt Instant Pot; the size, the stainless steel material that is made of , the comfortable and safe handle to stay away from the hot surface and the exact depth that I was looking for that satisfied my storage capacity. Iโm so glad I was able to buy such a great and perfect steamer basket. Itโs well made and very economical. I highly recommend it!

GREAT ACCESSORY!
Great fit, helps a lot picking up hard boiled eggs and veggies, but i believeit will be functionalfor other types of cookingin the pot. Im a novice, so I'm still exploring what I can cook using this accessory. Fits perfectly and I can lift up the basket by picking up the covered handle (I tested it for heat after releasing steam & opening the lid for about 1 minute and it was great to lift with my fingers). I suggest testing this out, but do it safely by waiting, then narrow it down from there and adopt the shortest time. Has NOT scratched my pan, but I'm not scooting it around. She's not interfere with sealing for pressure cooking or other types of cooking. Seems sturdy, not fragile. Decent weight & metal mesh is thick & strong enough & no rust so far, crossing fingers! No assembly needed.

Seems to be ok!
Arrived in decent, undamage condition, but the bail handle was very difficult to release from its position inside the basket. Not sure if that was due to shipping, but I did manage to get it released and will not push it all the way in, going forward. It's a good size for me (6 quart) and I expect to use it for everything from boiling eggs, to vegetables to pasta.

Fits inside of 6 quart Dutch oven
I was looking for a small wire mesh basket that would fit inside of a normal 6-quart pot, or dutch oven. I ordered the 6-quart version of this same steamer basket, but it was much smaller than I anticipated. The 8-quart steamer basket actually fits much better inside of the 6-quart dutch oven and pot. I was looking for a basket that I could cook pasta in, where I could simply lift the basket out to drain the pasta, rather than needing to use a separate collander. Normal pots that come with a pasta insert, typically have larger holes in the insert, and pasta sometimes slips through the holes, and to the bottom of the pot. The wire mesh of these baskets is too small for the pasta to slip through. Using this basket, the pasta no longer burns or sticks to the bottom of the pot, because the basket does not touch the bottom of the pot. Using this basket, it is very easy to drain the pasta, simply picking the basket up, via the silicon covered handle. The wire mesh is small enough to accommodate grains of rice also, if you wanted to use it for that. And, it could also be used for steaming of vegetables, dumplings, or anything else. The only negative is that it DOES stick out of the top of the pot, so you could not use the basket in those cases where you wanted to use the lid to seal the pot. Personally, I really like these baskets. If I could make any manufacturer suggestions, it would be to make the baskets as wide as possible, to come within 1/2 - 1/4 of an inch from the side walls of a standard 6 quart pot or dutch oven, and where the top of the basket sits just under the closed lid. I gave them 5 stars, because I like the materials, quality of the build, quality of the mesh, and versatility. But, I would like to see them designed to better fit a typical 6-quart pot or dutch oven.

Perfect fit for 6 quart Instant Pot
Perfect fit. I did remove the silicone off the handle by cutting along the length (spine) of the handle with a box cutter. You canโt just pop off one end of the handle because the ends are pressure stamped flat outside the basket rim, so it canโt be removed without damaging the basket. It was simply my personal preference to not have silicone inside my pressure cooker while cooking food. The basket seems well built. This product is the perfect solution for transferring food out of the cooker securely, rather than the flimsy grate that came with the pot that spills your food onto the counter.

Faster food preparation
Fits the 3qt perfect and saves me a lot of scooping time out of the small pot. I like the 4 round feet which are short enough to get down to boiling water and won't scratch the pot easily. The handle can be covered well by the Instant Pot lid. One thing people might not like could be the tips of the handle are protruding outside the basket without any protective wrapping. User might scratch their hands or tear at the sponge while they are cleaning this. However, I always use gloves to take it out and doing the dishes, so that doesn't seem to be a problem to me. Good price and very useful.
