Excellent for anyone switching from a carnivorous diet to a vegetarian one, as well as anyone just looking for a delicious, low calorie, high protein, wholesome snack. The texture is wonderful. I was afraid that it would have a gross texture, but I was very surprised at its similarity to meat. And the best part is that it’s not meat! Primal Jerky offers a great flavor and texture without having to resort to meaty counterparts. The serving size of 1 oz was perfect for an on-the-go snack to be consumed in one sitting. I will be making this a staple in my diet, now.

I ate beef jerky every single day at my school cafeteria when I was growing up. I loved the stuff. And then I became a vegetarian and, alas, I thought my beef jerky days were done for. Until I discovered this. It is very convincing - the texture isn't gross or suspect like many fake meat products. It isn't too tough, is a bit moist, and has a nice flavor. It is much softer than Tofuky Jerky beef jerky replacement, so the texture is easier to deal with, but this flavor is more sweet than the spicy Tofuky Jerky version. I'm excited to taste other flavors to see if there is something a bit on the spicy barbecue side rather than sweet barbecue side, but in general, I really like this and it might convince even the most skeptical meat eater. My dad even liked it, which is saying a lot - he is an old school eater who was very skeptical of anything vegetarian.

I have tried all of the Primal Spirit jerkies as well as several similar brands, and this is by far my favorite - perfectly smokey, savory & sweet with a nice texture. Even my meat-eating friends and picky 4-year-old like them. They are a bit saucy/sticky and can get stuck between my teeth, but that doesn't detract for me; they are just so tasty and a nice occasional indulgence.

Okay, these are pretty darn tasty. I have tried several different brands of veggie jerky, and so far, these are my faves. I've tried several different flavors (Texas Barbecue ranks at the top of my list), and they're all pretty good. They are pretty moist, almost to the point of being a little saucy. They can be just a bit messy to eat, but the benefit is that they are GREAT to eat on a sandwich! Terrific by themselves and amazing on bread... makes me smile. The packaging can get a little frustrating. They are serrated at the top, so in theory, you should be able to tear the edge and open the entire package along the side of the strip. Unfortunately, it doesn't exactly work that well. A lot of times it will rip off and make it difficult to get the strip out of the package. I just use scissors now. Just a minor complaint. But seriously, these things are delicious. Even my carnivorous friends like them (and it's usually impossible to get them to touch a substitute). Definitely recommend!

These jerky strips are delicious! I've been a vegetarian for 13 years and I'm always looking for tasty vegetarian "meat replacement" foods. These strips definitely work for me. I keep a couple in my car to snack on when I don't have time to stop and eat. The texture is so "meat-like" you will question yourself and re-read the ingredients to be sure is isn't made from animal flesh. I bought a case of the Texas BBQ and a case of the Hickory Smoked. They are both fantastic, and the Texas BBQ has a nice spicy kick! I think you'll really enjoy this product. I do. So I bought these to try to curb away from eating as much meat and potentially slowly transition into a full vegan diet, fully expecting them not to taste as good as one of my favorite snacks, beef jerky. To my surprise, these not only provide the same level of protein and far better nutrition, but they're absolutely delicious!!! The texture, taste, and toughness are absolutely perfect, and I see myself throwing a handful of these in my backpack anytime I go hiking or just need a snack because these are irresistible!

Having been a vegetarian for a few years now, I've learned it can be hit or miss with meat alternatives. This meatless jerky is perfect! I've had a couple different flavors, but the Texas BBQ is by far my favorite. It's deliciously sweet and smoky. The one thing I didn't like about meat jerky is how tough and dry it is. This stuff is nice and tender, but it still has that get-stuck-in-your-teeth effect like the real thing. As a vegetarian, I honestly can't imagine a meatless jerky getting any closer to real beef jerky than this! Regarding some people's reviews about hating the texture and flavor because they've never tried it before, try it before you purchase a whole box of 24 of them. That's just common sense, especially with vegetarian meat substitutes.

I LOVE all of Primal Spirit's vegan jerky flavors, and I buy quite a bit of it quite often. But this is by far among my favorite flavors. And so far, Primal Spirit is by far my favorite vegan jerky product.

Great taste, just moist enough, and texture very similar to meat-based jerky. You wouldn't know the difference!

highly recommend this veggie jerky. flavours are great and very moreish! easy to open. a bit expensive unless on sale or subscribe and save, but overall good value with high protein content and good taste. perfect for snacks on the go and for hiking snacks as take up minimal space and provides sustenance.

Super flavour, decent price for the 24 pack and good amount of protein without too many cals/carbs.

These are great snacks and really delicious. Arrived a day earlier than anticipated.
