These are exactly what we were looking for to replace the ones in our mahogany French front door.Well made and not junk.

Work great on my doors.

Pretty easy to install, even with almost zero experience! Because of the shape of the latch, you basically just need to carve out a rectangular cube, which is a lot easier than some of the alternatives and makes it more DIY friendly. Didn’t do the best job in making that rectangle, but it still turned out great! My door feels solid now!

This are nice little bolts - not too thick, so you don't have to mortise your door that much. If you live in a "sketchy neighborhood", they may be too lightweight to keep intruders out. I used them on French doors that were "interior", so this is not an issue for me.

Cutting the groove in the doors is the only tricky part. Only because my router skills are not that great. But after a few practice cuts on scrap wood, it was easy enough to get these installed in our doors. The recessed design means we don't look at them when the doors are closed. We are using them on fan-fold doors in the inner hinge section of one fold. They cannot be seen until we open the first fold then release the pin on the second fold. The only wish we had was to have a longer pin. These reach just fine but 1/4 inch longer would be preferred.
