This is actually my first time writing a review for any purchase I've ever made online and I frequently shop online; I felt compelled to put my feedback and stamp of approval on this product. For the price this is a great deal.First and foremost: I did a lot of research and browsing both on and off of Amazon to find out safety concerns regarding space heaters. As many of you may see if you've been browsing other units, people complain that some units become very hot, as well as their plugs/cords, and that they pose a fire hazard. For this reason I did my research and not only does this unit have a tilt shut off (unit needs to be flat on the ground, if lifted it will auto shut) it also has a feature that if it overheats the unit will also shut off. These are both great features, I'm all about safety first.Aside from these features, the heater works great for me. As others say, the fan is a bit weak, but this also makes the unit extremely quiet. Regardless of the fan being weak, this little unit does a great job of heating a medium sized bedroom. Set it on high, after about 30 minutes you feel a noticeable difference; walk away for an hour or two and the area will be very warm. Get the area you want to the right temp and set it on low and this unit will do a good job of maintaining the heat. After about 6 hours of use I was still able to touch the front grill of the unit and it was hot but not enough to burn me. Turn the fan setting on and the grill will be completely cool to the touch in under a minute. Also the cord and plug are both well insulated and have never even felt warm after hours of use.On top of all this, I think not only is the unit being quiet and working well very attractive, but I also really like that there is no element that heats up orange on this unit. So not only is it quiet, but it is also not emitting disturbing light.All in all I am very pleased with this unit. It serves my purposes quite well, it was a reasonable price, and the safety features make this unit a complete winner in my book. Do yourself a favor, spend a few extra dollars whether on this heater or a different one and make sure you get the safety features, its well worth it to have the piece of mind; protect yourself and the ones you love.

I bought this heater Oct. 16th and received it very quickly. I have used it almost every night since with no issues. It warms the room (9x12) very quickly and I actually have to turn it on low after about 10 minutes if I don't want to start sweating. The only problem I have had is with the heat not being evenly distributed throughout the room, mainly the floor was freezing. That was quickly remedied with my box fan, which I use for white noise anyway, aimed up at an angle to bring the warm air sitting at my ceiling down to the floor. This unit has an auto-shutoff if it tips or is on an uneven surface, and also will shut off if it gets overheated, a problem that I have not had leaving it on high for hours at a time. I sleep with it on low only to keep my room from being freezing when I wake up. I have thought about getting a timer for the outlet so that it will turn on half an hour before I get up.

these points may seem petty. but all combined i feel a bit disappointed. before the ratings i must mention the placement of the safety stick. i mean come on now, wtf? the person who affixed the "caution" label on the rear of the heater should be shot. unless, of course, they happen to be blind. (appears that may very well be) you just don't get any more lopsided than this. that being said, i use the heater to heat a 10' x 22' room and it does so nicely. rather quickly, too it's too bad it doesn't shut itself down after doing so. i am purchasing 2 more heaters. unfortunately they won't be this model. if it only had an adjustable thermostat that shut self off when at temp. at least some sort of timer. i want something that does a little more "on it's own" and requires less of me.-no thermostat to auto shut it off. mine stays on until I go over and shut it off_nice slow ocilation _ perfect for corner placement with excellent room coverage_remove a small philips screw on the back and remove a washable air filter_not too loud running on HI - fan doesn't change when switched to LO to loud_excellent price _ ordered it online & it was here 5 days later for under $40-nice heat output in HIthese points may seem petty. come on now, wtf? the person who affixed the "caution" label on the rear of the heater should be shot. unless, of course, they happen to be blind. (appears that may very well be) you just don't get any more lopsided than this.-excellent design but obviously cheaply made-compact unit and not too noisy-nice long cord, however, it only has a 2 prong plug. why not 3 prong like most of your devices today (makes ya wonder if it was cheaper to go with the 2prong rather than the safer 3 prong)- 3 modes HI-LO-FAN the heat is lowered on LO but the fan doesn't slow down. too much air over the reduced heat just creates a draft if you're more than a couple of feet away from it

That’s right… no central heat and air for 2 winters due to location. I had 2 of the infrared heaters that barely could heat the room. Radiant heater needed a fan behind it. BUT the little Citadel worked so well that I needed another heater a few years later and sought this one out. Ordered again (now having a 2 year old son) and not disappointed! I don’t have to worry about him getting burned, it also has the tipover feature, and still that crazy warm FAST HEAT! Great product!

While it was working, it worked great. Was a nice size for our room and heated it well. Around the fourth time I went to turn it on, I walked away and came back into the room and noticed a foul burning smell. I noticed the heaters internal fan wasn't blowing so I bent down to touch the heater and the top of this unit was extremely hot! I think it was overheating. I turned it off and turned it back on again but again, the fan wouldn't expel the heat. I'm glad I didn't walk away from this thing for a 15-20 minutes. Who knows how long before it might have started a fire. I returned mine and didn't bother to get a replacement. There are plenty of other space heaters out there that don't have this problem.

compared to my old heater, i actually have to turn it off after a little bit , cause it warms up my basement room so fast. love it!

Fan doesn't blow very hard and has only one setting for speed. Heating is very good

I bought this in preparation for a cold winter in June. After using it for a month as a space heater that isn’t on all the time, it has died.
