Seller sent me used and defective product.
I have used this tool for last 6 years. It's fantastic. Bosch tools are great and reliable. Measurements are precise and very accurate.5 star for Bosch and 1 star for seller. Bought new one but received defective product. Received Packaging Seal broken, and seems like it is previously used and returned to seller.Seller should not be such careless.

Bit pricey but worth it. Horrible pouch though...
After much online research and hesitation I finally decided to buy the Bosch GLM 50C. I had initially decided to buy the Leica Disto D2 4.0 Leica Geosystems D2 4.0 New Laser Distance Measurer with Bluetooth (Red and Black) but found that on comparison of the two, the Bosch, in addition to being cheaper, had the advantage of having an inclinometer and the ability to do indirect measurements because of the inclinometer. On opening the box and holding the unit in my hand, the first thing that struck me was how light it was. Even after installing the two AAA batteries the unit felt so light and toy-like that I began to doubt the quality of the electronics it really contained and whether I’d made the right choice in spending so much. However, after I switched on the unit my initial doubts were dispelled and I was taken aback by the fantastic colour display and the unit’s ease of use. I won’t go into the details of all the functions as there are many reviews online that cover the same. I would like to mention though that before buying the unit one of my apprehensions was about concerns raised by a few reviewers in regard to battery life. Though I have not used the unit long enough to comment on its battery life I have come to realize that even if the battery life turns out to be lower than say the GLM 100c Bosch GLM 100 C Laser Range finder with Bluetooth which is more expensive I would still buy this unit as I have the option of just swapping batteries in the field rather than having to look for a usb charging outlet as in the case of the GLM 100c.In one of the online reviews I had seen, the reviewer had listed one of the negatives as being the fact that on power up, the unit defaulted to the Real Time min/max length mode wherein the laser is continuously ON which contributed to the low battery life. However, my unit (manufactured in March 2016) when turned on defaults to the Length mode wherein the laser is OFF which may be a firmware upgrade done by Bosch to help improve battery life. Another reason I suspect there has indeed been a firmware upgrade is that in the older units, the function menu had a name displayed in English on the screen such as Length, Real Time, Area, Volume etc. but in the new firmware they seem to have eliminated the onscreen English name of each function, however the number of functions is still the same. I’ve attached an image of the new screen for comparison with older reviews available online. I also noticed that other reviews had failed to mention that you could switch on the unit by either using the dedicated power on button OR by pressing the laser on button and this too may be another advantageous firmware upgrade.Inspite of the unit surpassing my expectations I have reduced one star because of the horrible pouch that comes with it. I’ve read other reviewers complain about how tight it was and how difficult it was to get the unit in and out of the pouch but I always thought they were exaggerating till I tried it myself. The pouch is simply way too tight for you to slide the unit it. Moreover, the unit’s anti-slip rubberized edges make it so difficult to slide it into the pouch that I have a feeling the rubber will start peeling off if I continue using the pouch. I also noticed that after just a couple of times in and out of the pouch, the plastic screen seemed to develop microscopic scratches and I think it may be a good idea to use a screen protector by getting one meant for a phone and cutting it down to size. Another small grouse was that the battery cover is a bit loose and vibrates when you tap the unit and leads you to think there is some loose component in the unit. I may try and use a bit of double sided tape below the lid to stop this. All in all I’m very satisfied with my purchase, now if only I can find the leather belt pouch of my old Nokia 3310 and throw away the one that came with the unit!!!!
