Shipping quality was good. As of the books, I cant say anything, because its PEAK!!! Books were also in good quality, the cover page, book pages, everything. If you are a big GOT fan, then this book set is for you.

The set was in perfect condition..even though it apparently came from far away ( took 12days ). Books are great..even the box is not torn from anywhere which i wasn't expecting to be honest since the window was so long. Very good job Amazon !

so finally the books arrived and i am so excited to have them to myself,i've been a religious follower of the show and more or less have read a lot of the books in many forums and wiki fan pages.but i just had to have all of them books for my personal collection and it feels great to have them.i'll just list some key points in my review so that it helps other fans and prospective buyers of the book series: Content: well it is GRRM,so if you are a fan of fantasy fiction,perhaps only lord of the rings by tolkien might be surpassing this masterpiece.the style of writing can be boring for some people who are not used to reading,but for me personally the book has been quite engaging,because it tells about the world from the perspective of different characters at different instances of time and from what i gather,there's no one protagonist or antagonist to the story,which is sort of great because this is what people are like in real. our personalities are neither white nor black,they are grey and the characterization in the book reinforces that. packaging: the box which the books came in took quite a lot of beating as it seemed to me.however the books weren't damaged because of that and that was quite a relief.but the case in which the books are supposed to be kept got slightly torn from the sides,which was kind of a bummer for me and that is why i'd deduct one star on the ratings,cuz the sellers could have packed the books with some bubblewrap because even damaged cases can be deal breakers for some of the collectors.had the case arrived intact,i'd have no reason to complain about the books books condition: the condition of the books is top notch,all the books look properly bound eventhough they were paperback and that too with some massive books. the paper quality is good,it gives you the feel that you're reading a classic and i like that. the font inside the books looks readable thus far so all in all i'm pretty happy with the overall package. the book series is suitable for bibliophile who's into reading fantasy,and i think it's a must for all of us GOT fans,because it gives you a chance to explore the worlds of westeros and essos even deeper which is just awesome,as it gives you a lot of things to think about and theorize about characters and events in the whole saga and since the books are way more detailed and quite different from the show,it's still a lot more fun inspite of you having watched the tv show before.i'd definitely recommend it to an avid reader of fiction.

Original Books That's All I think it will be a good journey with the books

Book are sophiscated and amazing. Although I am not reading now but excited to complete it.

A masterpiece. Do I need to say more? GRRM is a fantastic writer and creates an intricate world full of incredibly written characters; a world that is hard to not care for. I had watched the entirety of the TV show before reading this (incomplete) series and I benefited from knowing the plethora of main characters beforehand. Books 1-3 are pretty close to the show but the story quickly takes a different trajectory and soon, you are reading an entirely different story. There are WAY more characters and plotlines in the books, and existing characters have many, many layers that a visual medium simply cannot capture. This is the unconventional story of characters rather than heroes and villains, and at times manages to make you enjoy reading about and caring for the "bad guys" as well. The story is well-paced for the most part (the first three books ace this aspect) and the font, though smaller than most books, is readable. I received the box set (books+map) in perfect condition and would highly recommend this series to anyone considering jumping into it. Warning: The series is dark, mature, and gritty, and does not shy away from showing the worst of humanity; in fact, it elaborates on it on various occasions. Also, it has been a decade since the last book was published. We are still awaiting the final two, and at the time of writing this review, we don't have any clear updates on when that will happen. Some of these things often turn readers away from starting this series. Personally, I never had that issue. I did not like the ending of the show and it sucks to not have a clear timeline on the upcoming books, but even with this knowledge, I enjoyed the hell out of these books.
