I have owned a home in Florida for 12+ years now and at first I would have to call an Air Conditioning service company at least once a year to clear my plugged up A/C drain line. It seems that in the humid states like Florida these drain lines become easily clogged by algae or some other growing organism. So, every year I was paying $75 for a service call, or two, to have my lines cleared and then my A/C would be able to start working again. Of course the A/C repair guy never told me that just by placing a few of these pills in my drain tray, then the lines would remain clear and I would not be calling him to fix my disabled A/C unit. So, #1) these pills work great, and #2) do yourself a big favor and get some so you can avoid calling the repair man.

This seems to work great in the air conditioner I have. I do not use it frequently as it is extremely poisonous and should not even be handled without gloves. I have a pet and worry about any water leaking out and touching her if she gets near it, so be careful when using, but it definitely works at cleaning mildewy scents out of your air conditioner. Just a tip if you have a portable air conditioner: you have to basically shove the tablet through the grill at the back of the portable air conditioner near the bottom and ensure it's landing in the water-catcher and not just sitting against the copper wiring.

A couple of years back when I first installed an A/C unit it quickly began taking on a smell that was far too reminiscent of urine. I tried everything I could find to do online and then while walking through a store I found pan tabs that said "Help control odors". So I got them and they worked beautifully. They were SOOO expensive though. I think I got a small handful for the same cost as this rather large bottle. So I honestly doubted if this was the same stuff or capable of the same results. After all, how could they provide it so inexpensively? Answer: I have no idea! I only know they work just as well, there are no foul odors and I spent way less than I was before. I'm very pleased with this!

Excellent algaecide, fungicide and microbiocide. Self regulating tablets that dissolve slowly. Compatible with all hard surfaces with standing water like in HVAC, dehumidifier, condensate pump, drain, etc. Work like a charm, will buy again.

I recently just had my AC units serviced by a heating/AC company as part of a yearly checkup on the units to prevent any long-term issues, especially with the hot summers we have here. One of the things that I learned from the technician is that I should be regularly using these tablets to keep the drain lines clean and clear from sludge and debris that builds up over time with regular AC use. For all intents and purposes, these tablets are essentially made of chlorine which helps keeps things cleared out of the drain lines. Depending on how your AC unit lines are designed, you can either put these in the drain pan or in the drain lines themselves. The tablets are roughly .5 inches in diameter. If your drain lines are small, then you may have to break these into smaller pieces. My units have a drain line designed to drop tablets down into. I use one at a time in each drain line. The tablets do not clog the lines and last about 3 months before you have to put another, although that depends on how frequent you AC is in use. These have no odor other than maybe the slight smell of chlorine but unless you put it under your nose, you do not smell it. Because these do contain chlorine, I would not put these into areas where you have rubber seals or things like that as it will degrade the rubber/silicone. These work well for the purpose of keeping slime and other things from building up in the drain pipes and prevent long term issues such as clogs and leaks. For 200 tablets, these are reasonably priced in the 15 to 18-dollar range. 4 stars
