P7 vs p5 s2, beside Over & On ears. What's really different ?

How is the bass effect, and does this has sound leak in case of airplane travel, the person next to me will hear it...

By bass effect I guess you mean does it blow your brains out. No. I like jazz but listen most likely to classical. Given that I must say BWs are the best I've ever heard, including several on the $400 range. Revealing, balanced high to low, totally non- fatiguing. But I listen using a $1200 headphone amp which is bound to make a difference. The phones are beautifully made and comfortable. The best I've ever heard.

Has anyone compared the original p5's with the p5 series 2? i had the originals and the earpads were a little hard and the sound was ok.

The earpads are very soft, and the sound is awesome, but mine are the bluetooth version 2 also.

what model is the best to drown out airplance noise as well as being able to use on a treadmill

I would go for the P7's. The over ear design would probably be best for noise canceling. However, they are bigger and I'm not sure how well they would work on the treadmill. As a side note I love my P5's (series two) when coupled with a decent amp. They don't compare to my Audiez LCD3's but are a great "walking around" set of headphones. Much better than Beats or Bose.
