Good. Not fishy.
So far so good after 1 week. Will update on triglycerides after next bloodwork session.

So far, so good - Could be a life saver.
I have been using prescription Omega 3's for the past few years to control my triglycerides because they were out of control. The first prescription was for Lovaza, which contains a mix of EPA and DHA. It worked okay but DHA can raise your cholesterol level so I had to start taking atorvastatin in addition to the Lovaza. My doctor switched me to a newer brand (Vascepa) of Omega 3's that was pure EPA. This worked very well to control my triglycerides without raising my cholesterol. However, it is very expensive and I no longer have prescription drug coverage. So, I have been searching and searching for an affordable substitute since I have to take 4 Grams a day! I was extremely happy to find the Pure Essentials Ultra EPA, it is the closest thing to the Vascepa that I have been able to find and most importantly, can afford to buy. I have only been taking it for a few weeks but so far everything seems good. They are small so they are easy to swallow and I haven't gotten any nasty fish burps. I will update this once I have been taking it for a few months and get my triglycerides checked again.

EPA is the more potent part of fish oil
Aside from the price which is higher than other fish oils, I believe this EPA pill works better for me than a combination pill, based on a liberal interpretation of some research reports and personal experience.

Last 3 bottles are impossible to open.
UPDATE:The cap issue has been fixed! The last 3 bottles have had a cap that actually comes off. These have been great, no fishy aftertaste. No complaints about the product itself but the packaging is terrible. I had to pry off the lid the first time the issue occurred and ended up cutting myself on the metal lid. The second time I saved myself the hassle and just used a can punch to cut through it but then the container was useless. I've just been refilling the last jar that actually opened properly. I've gotten 3 in a row that felt like they were welded shut. If the packaging is improved, I'll revise my rating.

Excellent fish oil
I had read that pure EPA can help with your mood and I would rather enhance my mood naturally so I was pleased to find that this fish oil isolates EPA. Most fish oils hype me up too much- it doesn't take much and I have a hard time sleeping. I tried the recommended dose, 2, and it wound me up. I felt great and my mind was firing on all cylinders, but it was too much. I scaled it back to 1 pill with breakfast and it's just right. I get the benefit of wiping away the brain fog with some extra energy but it's not too much. I'm really grateful for this fish oil because although I have had some down moments, they are nothing close to what I was experiencing before I started this one.
