What I did when I tried this foundation out was I would open the bottle and see if it matched my face. Then once I got home from buying this I held it up to my jaw line to see if it would match me i the sun light. I tired Ivory. At the time it was to light for me. The color would have worked for me if it was winter at the time I bough it. So I just gave it away to my boyfriends sister that is lighter than me. I didn't really like this foundation at all. My skin tone is between neutral and warm. My skin is light/medium in the colder months and medium in warmer months. You can also call cover girl to talk to a representative and they can help you to choose the right color for your skin. I hope that this has helped you. :-)
