Good to control
My son uses his drone on a daily basis as he loves the photography but unfortunately his came to a bad ending and is broken so he tested thisIt flies well and is very reactive, easy to land on a marked area tooHe particularly liked the design of it and expected it to be more expensiveCompact so perfect for taking outBoth live stream and recordings were clearHe felt this was a good replacement to his so can recommend

Flimsy arms. Video issues. Flies well though.
The media could not be loaded. This is the second Red5 drone that I've had the opportunity to review. Sadly, I'm quite disappointed with this one, particularly considering the £69.95 price tag at the time of review. The drone comes in very appealing packaging, which certainly makes it feel like you're receiving a quality product. Sadly, what's inside is fairly low quality. The drone itself is flimsy and the arms feel like they will easily snap off if extended too far or if it takes a hit on a rough landing.Everything about the drone feels low quality. There are dated brushed motors, which I wouldn't have expected from a drone in this price range today. Whilst they do, surprisingly, work ok in flight (see my video) only long term testing will see how well they last. There's a decent sized and quality battery included. This has a nice casing, although uses it's own proprietary charging usb cable. A micro usb or better would have been preferred. It works though, although quoted there's a 200 mins to charge. Factoring in the stated 13 mins of flight time, which will be less if flying fast or doing the stunt flip and that's a lot of waiting for the single battery to be ready for another round. The transmitter looks ok, although the antenna are dummy ones and really are a waste of time putting up. It may be that this is a repurposed controller from another drone.I managed to connect to WiFi, after quite some time setting it up. After downloading the app, I got about 5 seconds of video whilst stationary, then the video jammed and wouldn't come back on. What I saw was a little better than expected, but nothing special.Overall, this does fly, but the negative far out weigh the few positives with this drone. For the price, I would have expected far better. Working video (the app is somewhat dated) and another battery or 2 would be needed as a minimum. The other big disappointment is the maximum 40 metre range. putting in a leaflet about the drone code and not flying higher than 40 metres really rubs in how poor this range is.
