I've got an 1,800 gallon in-groud pool with a sand filter that I flush monthly. When we moved to this house a couple years ago, I didn't know if the first thing about pool maintenance. I had been battling a nasty mustard algae infestation and was continually dumping lots of chlorine shock and doing a juggling act with the chemicals trying to get everything balanced (chatGPT helped me a lot with this FYI). Whilst looking for other pool chemicals, I came across this and thought, hey why not give it a shot? So glad I did. After doing a regular filter flush to clear out the existing gunk in there, I put about half of a bottle of it in the pool skimmer by the pool pump, then ran the pump for about 10 to 15 seconds to let it get the cleaning solution the sand and the filter, then shut it off and let it sit for the night. The next morning, before letting the pump run, I opened the valve to flush it again and did so for about 5 minutes, after which I closed the valve and let the pump run in cleaning mode as usual. What a massive difference! The first thing I noticed was that my skimmer didn't have any more air bubbles showing on the top of it. After that, I felt the pool jets and they must have been at least three times more powerful than before - I'm guessing my filter sand was extremely dirty! I'm actually kind of embarrassed I didn't figure this out sooner but figured I would share this in the review so other people might bypass all the headaches I've been through.. I'm guessing the next thing I will notice is a lower electricity bill since my pump isn't having to work so hard to pull the water through - fingers crossed.. I typically don't leave reviews unless I really like or really dislike a product, so for whatever that's worth, this is an excellent product and it does what it claims, at least for sand filters.

Our three year old sand filter was due for a cleaning. Backflushing wasn't effective.I put this in the chamber that houses the pump filter basket, and ran the pump in normal mode for just a few seconds to draw the cleanser into the sand filter. Then I powered down and let it sit until I got off work the next day, and then backflushed the cleanser out of the filter.Worked like a charm.

I was having issues this year getting the pool open. I kept fighting Algae and cloudy water. I never thought that the sand would gather oils from swimmers and reduce the effectiveness of the sand. I was going to change the sand in the filter because it was 5 years old. I decided to give this a shot first and I'm glad I did, It works perfectly! It cleaned the heavy oils and dirt out of the filter and it works like the day they installed it. After getting the pool balanced and using this product, we swam all summer long in FL and I have not had one issue with Algae or cloudiness. I'll be buying it again!

I have an Intex krystal clear sand filter. I had a lot of algae in the pool after leaving it uncovered for over a year. Naturally the filter became very clogged. I would backwash & rinse for it to run for 2 hrs and pressure built up again. I used a bottle of this and after 2 backwashes it is working as if it were out of the box again !!

Did not work for me as I expected.

When I opened my above ground pool, I slipped and ended up dumping a lot of waste that was sitting on the cover into the pool. When I turned on the pump, I promptly clogged the filter. Backwashed several times with very little change. I used this product, and a couple of backwashes later, and everything was working great.
