People complaining about "low volume" read this
IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING LOW SOUND VOLUME, open BlasterX Acoustic Engine Pro, go to Advanced Settings tab -> Speakers/Headphones tab, then change the Speakers/Headphones Configuration to any other value than it is currently on. The sound volume will become normal(or louder). THEN change back to your desired configuration.I have been using this sound card for 1 month now with full satisfaction. Just don't expect so much about positional audio engineering, it is not very perfect - you can't always tell if the sound source is front or behind of you. If you want to play game with a 7.1 virtual surround sound in popular games like Fortnite, Rainbow Six Siege or CS:GO, then you will be far more satisfied with the built in bi-neural spatial sound in those games because the positional sound engineering is lot better in those games than this sound card. So, is there any point in buying this card? Yes there is- a. the sound quality is much better than most onboard sound, bass is punchy, clear mids and highs for good sound experience. b. using the 7.1 virtualization, you can enjoy the videos that comes with 8 channel audio (if you don't complain about the positional audio). If you have this card with your HEADPHONE and want to use the in game built-in bi-neural spatial sound instead of the virtual surround sound provided by this sound card, then change the sound channel to "Headphone (Stereo)" and turn on spatial sound in your game.FYI- the last driver update was provided in 03/2018.

Great for Music
Best Budget DAC for Laptop or PC, I am using this for Music and Movies Playback, Best for hi end Stereo Speakers, hudge difference in audio quality compared to the cheap dac you get on your motherboard. It is highly recommend to install proper drivers as there is hudge difference in the audio quality if played without installation of drivers. Built quality is good, Stereo Separation is amazing, Volume modes are useful when watching movies. Overall best value at the price

Hyperx cloud alpha Pro + this one for PUBG PC
It served the purpose. I am using hyperx cloud alpha Pro in my pc with alc887 audio chip. In pc pubg the onboard audio is useless. I cranked my headset with 100% volume, pc volume 100% + loudness equiluzer + equlizer settings. Still low sound. After heavy research for 1 year i bought this. My current settings are 35 % pc volume with no equilzer setting and my headset volume is 100 and i am able to pin point the game audio in pubg pc.But for playing all other games like destiny 2, dota, AC i use onboard audio without any eq settings.Ofcouse this looks like game bug and my headset need more impendense but this soundcard served the purpose. Please carefull there is no warranty info in this Amazon page, if you are getting warranty with your area creative service center then this will be good.

Value for money
It can produce better surround compared to dts x and dolby atmos, try using the following settings:-surround - 40crystalizer - 20bass - 50virtual heapdhone 5.1 surroundworks fine on console and pc, you should notice the difference while switching to dolby atmos or dts x immediately, just remember to set it back to 5.1 when switch back to this from dolby atmos or dts x cause those to sets the audio to stereo instead of 5.1 or 7.1compared to G6 model, you have better options for settings on console with g6 overall plus you get dolby digital from games if you use the optical input method in G6 and this model do not have optical in option so no dolby digital here but you can still get dolby digital 5.1 due to virtual surround, download a dd 5.1 audio demo file and test it with this. The main benefit of G6 over this is overall higher volume potential but this also has high gain option and audio is clean in this as well. G6 can be used for optical out to 5.1 speakers but if you have 5.1 speakers with dd you do not need G6 in the first place. Well worth buying. The cheaper model also has surround but lacks 5.1 or 7.1 virtual surrond options.

Very premium experience, without breaking the wallet.
Purchased this Creative G1 USB DAC because a silicon bead got stuck into my Macbook's headphone jack rendering it in-accessible. So I had to use a USB DAC, and came across this when browsing for USB sound card options. What is this?Creative Sound BlasterX G1 is a 7.1 compatible, Gaming USB sound card. It also features a better quality DAC which helps in boosting the sound quality overall. Creative claims this model can drive upto 600 ohms headphones. Most surround-sound gaming headphones (entry level to Pro) will support this USB DAC.It does not feature any controls on the device. Just the housing, and a 3.5mm analog port for headphones. When powered, the X glows in red. Very simple, and that's how it is very very effective.*Performance*Plugged in without any expectations, and was blown away with the improvement in SQ. For any casual listener this USB DAC is an extremely "awesome", and for most audiophiles and enthusiasts this would bring a smile definitely. Most of the iTunes song with true to the source SQ are played back extremely well. The bump in SQ is definitely noticeable. Being a gamin focused USB DAC, this generally tend to boost the low frequencies a bit. But I find that to be okay. Infact, the lows, highs and mids are boosted relatively well that any casual listener would feel like a bliss.I did not try any FLAC files so far. But judging by the performance so far, I think FLAC will definitely make you smile a lot.*Conclusion*Highly recommended for anyone who plays games, or listens to music (compressed / uncompressed). Purists may have a slightly different opinion. But for most prosumer needs G1 ticks all the requirements without breaking your wallet. A very compact package as well.
