Gold Oxi Action – Carpet Powder Deep Cleaner, 650g

Has blessed my shag rug with new life. Easy to use and extremely effective. It does have a "smell" but if like me a lot of fragrance gives you a headache this one is an inoffensive, clean smell that eases off quickly after it's been hoovered up. I can imagine if you have a weaker vacuum you may have issues but it lifted no bother with a Henry - did take a few passes and a bit of attention to detail on a very thick, dense pile like mine. So perhaps not the choice for you if you have very thick rugs and/or a slightly pathetic hoover. I do think you will get better results depending on how well you scrub it in and how miserly you are with product; apply generously and scrub vigorously, particularly if you're using on a dense rug, and it will return the effort, the product works if you work it. The other reviews regarding the packaging are correct, it would be a bloody nightmare especially not using the full dose, save yourself the faff and decant it directly into a big sealable plastic tub or zip loc, it's not any more difficult to spread that way. I can see what they were going for with the design but it is patently, rubbish, bypass entirely. I had no issues sprinkling it using a shaking motion out the corner of a tub, or use a scoop. Seriously, just don't bother with the packaging. I got half covered in the product while it was still "sealed" during the shake well stage of the instructions. Decant it, you won't have issues. Absolutely will order again however the amount I received was very generous, more than half leftover after one medium area rug and a generous application, so it might be a while before I need to order again. That said my rug has come up like brand new and is lovely and clean and soft feeling to touch as if it's been fully shampooed with infinitely less faff than renting a rug doctor and lugging it upstairs. A 10/10 household product (if you ignore the packaging).

I found this product very good for my carpet in the heavy traffic areas. My only criticism was it was so messy and kept blocking my filters on my vacuum cleaner. Smells fresh too so would buy again

It has neutralised the carpet odour and the carpet looks cleaner. Useful on wool carpets as any wet cleaning would make them shrink.

Before I used it I read the instructions correctly. I personally felt the product would have been better in a tub with a scoop similar to cat litter ones because the whole process didn't work for me. I found that the powder was clumpy as it fell through the holes onto my rug and scattered all over my floor. Maybe the holes are too big, fewer bigger holes maybe? I tried breaking up the lumps and rubbed them into the rug but it made a mess. Its still in a bag not sure what to use it for.

I have previously used Zorb to clean our cream living room carpet square, and bought this as Zorb no longer available. I only needed 1 bag to clean a 15m2 carpet and was pleasantly impressed with the results. I will buy again.

Really does work at bringing up carpets brighter. It is an arse to do admittedly. Shaking out is fine but the scrubbing in takes a bit of arm work it in. Hoovering up blocked the filter in the hoover ( unsurprisingly) but I had an extra to finish the job. It done 2 large rugs easily. Well worth the effort though. Smelt clean too

A bit of hard graft getting it into the fibres, but well worth the result. Fibres felt softer, definitely looked cleaner and this was on a near white, large rug with stains. Worth the effort, saved the rug from going to the tip.

We invested in new carpets last year and a year later, they are starting to look a bit tired. Not particularly dirty, but slightly flattened and not like new. The online reviews and YouTube video for this product seem to show it refreshes carpets. It takes a bit of effort to get results - but I would say it's worth it. Our lounge carpet is about 15 sq metres and this product is a perfect amount for it. Following the instructions I sprinkled on the powder and worked in with a clean hand brush in sections. This took about an hour to do the whole carpet. I left for another 30 mins. I then started to vacuum up, slowly in order to maximise the effect. A word of warning - if using a cordless vacuum (we have a Dyson v7) it fills the bin REALLY quickly. I had to empty 5 times in cleaning the carpet. But the results are worth it. The carpet smells fresh and returned to a springy feeling. It also almost shines (not sure if they use optical brighteners in the product). I've now subscribed to this every 2 months in order to keep out carpets lasting longer and fresher. I would recommend

I regret using this product on our carpet. - Did not clean carpet, All stains remained as it is. - Could not get rid off all powder even after vacuuming more than 5 times. - Clogged my vacuum machine. even after cleaning vacuum machine filters several times seems like efficiency of my vacuum machine dropped allot. This is a good powerful 1800W machine we are using for couple of years. -Powder settled everywhere which is another headache to clean -Not sure how much went inside our lungs!!

This pack was opened and wrapped with plastic bubble and tape. Are we serious about this?! No return for the product even! Shameless
