Excellent Heavy Duty Shirts For Around The House or Out In the Field
I bought a few a while back and have found them to be excellent field blouses (yes the army calls these shirts blouses), for wear around the house and am quite pleased I bought them. I'm wearing one now (not that I planed to). As to the weight of the blouse, I think I know why they seem so light weight to me. When the army switched to the camouflage Battle Dress Uniforms (BDU's is what they were called) around 1974 I think, these summer weight new issues are heavier than was the Vietnam blouse. Much to my surprise I found a pair of my old army issue utility trousers while going through some boxes over this past weekend (April 11/12, 2020) and they are 100% pure cotton. I was also pleased that they still fit. They are very light -- although these blouses are not the identical material it is very close otherwise they are a very good copy of the original. On a minor point, the left hand chest pocket has a hole across the top seam where you could keep two army issue pens. Mine only has space for one pen (and I still have two of these pens so I am sure of this point. I think civilians looking at it will not know the difference but I can tell. Sam, US Army 4th Infantry Division which operated in and around the Ia Drang Valley (two tours). So I'll keep the one I have but do not plan on buying another. If it was $25 instead of $42 I would be more likely to get another. I still haven't made my mind up yet as to whether or not I want to remove the patches/insignia from one of army issue camo blouses to put on this shirt. [And yes blouse is the term used by the army.) As to size, I'm 6' 2" & 215 Lbs. and the extra large size fits very well. One thing that comes with the shirt that might matter to some is an authentic dog tag with the company logo on it with a length of authentic army beaded chain (about 4" long) which is very similar to what we used to hang our second dog tag around the main chain. For those who have only ever seen dog tags on TV or in the movies -- we (almost) never wore our dog tags on the outside of any shirt we wore. This showing of dog tags is pure Hollywood. Those in battle areas always wrapped their dog tags with tape or something to keep them from making noise that would give away our position. Also, I like cigars and have found these make excellent smoking jackets. Finally, I do realize the men of good will have differing opinions on any subject. Sam 23 years in the regular army and reserves. Former Sergeant First Class

10/10 would buy AGAIN!
I bought this blouse and the corresponding trousers with the intention of using them rigorously for some Texas paintball and tactical operations thereafter. I'm glad I went 100% cotton having been exposed to the dry heat of the Austin area in full summer spring many a time. I have fielded many different combat shirts, BDUs, and ACUs over my milsim career and the archetypical 50/50 cotton twill material of modern day BDUs and ACUs is so taxing on the body in terms of thickness and breathability its simply unbearable here in the deep south during the summer heat. This Tiger Stripe blouse offers timeless camouflage patterns that bend with the changing ambient light patterns much more naturally than digital patterns and you don't look like a cartoon character in the process (ACUs =p) The only thing about this fatigue is it doesn't have the appeals of modern day BDUs like the fused collar and pockets but that's why the price is relatively cheaper than the full-blown milspec BDUs. Pros: -2 Button adjustable sleeves for a sleek fit on wrist -Angled pockets for that unique vintage look -100% cotton reaps many benefits: Lighter, smoother, more breathable Cons: -SIZING. I had to buy an X-Small and I normally wear Medium SOMETIMES Small. But I know military sizing is always on the large size. I gambled and it paid off as it fits perfectly! Btw I am 5'10 light build so don't worry about your height if worried about sizing be sure to match it with your build size! -The blouse is actually darker and more faded for the vintage look which helps the camo in one way but inaccurate picture kind of.

Authentic in design and material
I’m a Vietnam vet , but didn’t deploy and served in a unit stateside. The govt classifies all of us the same, even though I’m a Vietnam era vet. Originally I trained for a LRRP unit for several yrs but as an officer, the year class before me was the last to really deploy. I’m lucky but feel a bit cheated as my stateside unit just babysat basic trainees and I had been trained for years for the LRRP units, some of which sustained 70% casualties .even though I’ve bought tiger stripe BDUs like I would’ve worn in Nam this shirt is authentic for non spec ops units and that’s why I had to have it. It’s a bit large but comfy and it makes me proud to recall that nearly 50 yrs ago I really served, even if not where I wanted or originally signed up for

Surprisingly Accurate
Keep in mind that it was a VERY long time ago when I last wore these but the design & construction seems spot on. I don't remember having "rip-stop" fabric back then but that's not a deal breaker. My intended purpose is a cool, durable work shirt on our ranch. It's not like the public will ever see or scrutinize it. It fits perfect, breathable and as comfortable as I remember. I find it ironic that after the war, I tossed two, very full duffle bags in the dumpster as my only interest was to grow my hair back as fast as I could then rejoin society. Now I find myself buying the same stuff I threw away.

Not the Military Quality you thought.
All I can say is it looks like a Vietnam era fatigue. Material quality/ruggedness is just not there. Not like the real thing. More like Old Navy quality stuff. Actually, I think Old Navy can produce something better for less. That said, it's not like you can't wear it as a light spring/summer windbreaker over a T-shirt. Kinda Cool for that. Nice amount of pockets, sleeves are baggy and can be rolled up on hot days and the waist is tapered for a nice fit.

This item looks good on the screen but in reality it's falling apart I have had to reinforce some parts of the stitching. Thay tell you that it's got double stitching but it's not. I showed this item to my uncle who served in nam and he just laughed. It's no wher like the kit he was given in nam.

Me gustó muchísimo me quedo bien....
