I should have bought this IMMEDIATELY
I'm upset that I didn't buy this sooner. If you have just identified that you have cauliflower ear, buy prime and order this immediately with 2 day shipping and bring it in with you to the doctor when they drain your ear. The gold standard is through-stitching bolsters in place, but every hospital I went to didn't seem interested in doing that; I had to really talk them into doing it and then I passed out during the procedure and she didn't seem to want to continue doing the rest of it. If you don't show up with the ear splintz to the doctor, what they're going to do is drain it and put some gauze and an ace bandage on your head and send you on your way, and then it will refill again, and you'll have to come back into the hospital five separate times and by the end of that torturous ordeal without anesthesia, it will look messed up. So, it's worth the $85 to me. If I would have just bought this immediately, my ear would look a lot better, I'm sure of it. I tried combat labs reversible silicone magnets and that seemed to really help but it wasn't applying pressure to all the spots that I needed it to, And the pressure discs suck, they're not flexible so you just have to use gauze. And the Combat Labs magnets are too tight without gauze. With the ear splints, I felt relief right away as it was curing - It felt so good, applying pressure all over the place like no magnet could provide. I took it off for a second because it was feeling like a lot of pressure building up and then put it back on and rotated it and now there's no pain, it actually feels really comfortable and stable and it kind of feels like a cool feeling like the blood draining where it was stuck. I shouldn't have listened to the other complaining reviewers. It doesn't smell like fish at all -maybe they changed the formula to fix it - there's zero smell to it. It's also not hard to do it at all. I feel like I got a good result on my first try. There's a slight bit of pain from the epic compression all over, but it's that familiar feeling of compressing whats left of a hematoma, so I'm not expecting it to be pain-free. What hurts worse is letting it fill back up into a hematoma, then feeling the regret. Buy this instead of dealing with all that. Other reviewers are just being complainers. This is the only product on the market that does this. I would still buy it even if it did smell like fish and was hard to use. But it's not. I now see why this is the only medically approved treatment for cauliflower ear. And I see why it's called an ear stabilization kit, because it really fills all the inside of your ear, And then it starts expanding ever so slightly. I left mine on as it was curing for like 30 minutes before disturbing it. But the reviewers that said that it cures faster than 5 minutes are correct. After about 3 minutes in it started to seem almost permanently shaped to where I couldn't modify it much anymore. So set a timer and work quickly and watch the instructional video on YouTube or their website.on YouTube or their website. Oh, and to be fair, if you're not a mechanic, yeah these plastic clips are fragile and they will eventually wear out with repeated use. The design principle on the clip is called a compliant mechanism, meaning it functions with no moving parts, just the material itself bending. When the plastic is only bent very slightly during use, it can last tens of thousands of repeated uses. But when the plastic is bent past it's tolerance, it can become permanently damaged, depending on the type of plastic. So if you're struggling with the clips, ask for help before you break it. You want to really minimally deflect the clips to open them up so that you can use them repeatedly. The plastic is decently durable and flexible tho, I'll give em that. I was able to dig my fingernail under the male side of the clip and get it out without any worry of breaking, but that's because I have a lot of experience with fragile plastic clips. These clips aren't terrible, but honestly it's not a great design for the clips. But this could be easily fixed with a rubber band - you don't have to use the clips if they break. Have a helper to help you with the clips.

Product worked well and arrived quickly
Went to an urgent care where I was referred out to a specialist. Lucky for me I had the EarSplintz with me and they were able to take care of me then and there. The nurse helped me mold it to my ear after draining it. Once molded it did expand a bit which made me have to trim certain parts of the mold to fit comfortably. It does at times pinch on my ear lobe but overall it is exactly what I expected and has kept the fluid from returning. I have had it on day and night, only remove it an hour at a time for comfort. Will be buying this product to keep on hand for the future.

Good idea for prevention, but not for treatment
I started to get separation of my cartilage and started the process of getting a cauliflower ear. I was trying to use this after draining it to keep the swelling down but it didn’t work. If it’s well, but not enough pressure to keep it drained or keep the area firmly press down. This would be a great prevention method.

Good Idea, Bad Execution
I bought this product to mitigate my chances of developing any more cauliflower ear. I molded my ear 3 times over the course of an hour without success. Each time I molded my ear I encountered issues. Issues included: the molds ripped, the plastic case wouldn't snap closed, when it did snap closed it wouldn't open, and the times it did snap closed it snapped closed on part of my ear lobe. When I wasn't encountering these issues I did get a half way decent mold (until it ripped taking it out of the plastic case). It molded well to my ear but felt like unless I was applying hand pressure to the mold it felt loose on my ear. I am not convinced there is enough passive pressure to prevent cauliflower from developing. If the product had worked as intended I think it would be good value and a product I would be recommending to my BJJ friends. However, because it did not work for me I had to return the product and won't be recommending it to anyone at my gym.

Worth every penny
This is the most expensive product I purchased for my cauliflower ear! This is the only thing that prevented it coming back. Worth the money to save your ear. The company reach out to me to try as well and I thought that was great marketing.

Good product for smaller ears.
Appears to work fine for normal to small ears but was uncomfortable to wear for individuals like myself who have large ears.

It works it saved my ear.
It works but you must follow the directions carefully and be dedicated to it until you heal. It will not be painless. Taught me to wear headgear.

Works well/NOT PAINLESS
This product works well. I had some mild cauliflower ear and I feel like it did a good job in helping my ear to retain its natural shape. So here is what I did. I went to my ENT doctor and he said it was fairly mild and he used a small needle to drain some blood. After this I molded the product to my ear and kept it on my ear for about 1/2 hour at a time a few times a day. In between I would put the mold in the freezer for the next 1/2 hour session. I couldn't leave it on my ear continuously as the instructions direct because my ear was in pain and throbbing while the earsplintz was in place. I definitely could not sleep with it on. I tried but it was painful. Besides the pain the product itself was easy to use. The only other negative would be the time for the mold to harden seems too short. The way it works is you mix two clays together and once you do this you have to mold it to your ear before it hardens. It hardens like a rock fairly quickly (about 5 minutes). I had to mold my ear twice because i wasn't fast enough the first time around. Don't worry because they provide plenty of product to work with. Overall the product works as intended. If I had to pick one thing I really didn't like it would be the pain. In the advertising they claim its painless. In my experience this is not true. There will be some pain.

My ears smell like fish and am thoroughly dissatisfied
Recently developed a bit of a clot in my ear and saw the great reviews for this product so purchased it. The product came well layer out and organised with clear instructions. However the clips were both stiff and awkward to use especially when trying to remove them from my ear. In addition to this, as the title of this review states, the base and catalyst caused a fishy smell (not my own smell) which was very unpleasant. If you don’t already have cauliflower ear, I would recommend buying this product but if you already have it, I wouldn’t suggest it. This product is more of a preventative measure than a cure.
