I absolutely love this! It fits perfectly on my bookshelf and looks so cute once it's finished. The glue isn't included, but I used Dollar Tree super glue and it worked great. It was really fun to build—I put on some music, lit a candle, and spent the evening putting it together. The instructions were a little confusing at first, but once I got the hang of it, everything went together pretty smoothly. The materials feel sturdy, and I was surprised by how adorable all the tiny books and accessories are. The little door actually opens and closes, and the light works perfectly with the on/off switch on top. Overall, it's such a cute display piece, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys miniature DIY kits.

Obsessed with these book nook kits! I finished it in a few hours. I wanted to save some for later, but it was so addicting that I couldn’t stop 😅. All the steps are laid out clearly in a little pamphlet so even the technical parts like wiring the lighting is easy. The light itself was a little too cool for me, so I just added some yellow and red plastic film to get the perfect warm tone. The light is turned on and off by a touch sensor that is placed snugly under the wood ceiling. It has been very responsive so far. The material is sturdy to work with (compressed particle or wood board) and is easily sanded to smooth any rough edges. The parts can be inserted into place easily, but be careful about forcing the long and thin pieces. Definitely better to sand the peg and add some glue if needed before inserting into the peg hole. The kit comes with everything you will need except glue, batteries, and tweezers. Had an absolute blast building this and definitely see myself getting one again in the future.

As someone assembling a book nook kit for the very first time, I was thoroughly impressed by both the quality and the overall design. I bought this as a Christmas gift for my wife, but I knew she wouldn't be into assembling it. So one night I pulled it out while she was away and my 14 year old daughter helped me put it together. She really got into it, and we had two quality hours working together on it. I'd say an adult should be part of the assembly unless your kid is experienced building detailed models. There were some small parts that needed finesse. But overall the assembly went smooth. The ONLY thing we used that wasn't in the kit was some super glue. I recommend the bottle with a brush in the cap. You just need a little dab on a few of the smaller parts. Most of the kit clicks together with little wood tabs. We were impressed with the detail and the precise laser cuts. I was worried it would be low resolution printed, but all the wood pieces have a durable, detailed print that almost looks like paint. It's also not too glossy, which helps with realism. The finished product is very satisfying, with lots of details to look at. The little light is a warm white color and good for a night light. We will definitely be buying these as gifts.

As others have said, this was a cute and fun little kit, but has some quality issues. I loved the overall look and design of the little bookshop. Building the tiny shelves, the book rack, the books themselves, the little camera, the tiny radio, the clock, etc. was very fun, and the resulting pieces were very charming, even before you snap everything together to form the scene. With these kits, it is generally really important to follow the directions in order and not pop things out until you need them. For the most part, the color directions with this kit were straightforward, as long as you're careful and don't rush through or make assumptions. There are a lot of pieces that click together in this kit, but also a good number of steps that do require glue as well (not included; more on the glue in a moment). A small $5 craft hammer helps a lot, as do a set of tiny clamps (~$6) to hold glued pieces together. The clamps aren't 100% necessary, but is a small expense that allows you to move on to other things instead of holding a glue-down by hand. I had to file down some of the little nubs for a tighter join (the file included doesn't fit well in all areas, so a tiny bit of sandpaper is nice to have instead), and it helps to have a cheap brown furniture scratch-repair marker to help darken those spots after filing so you don't have little white lines or file marks on the cross-sections of your pieces. Again, not necessary, but the final product looks a bit cleaner this way. However, as I noted, there are some quality issues with this kit. Several of the pieces that are meant to snap together have very tight joins on pieces that are cut very narrow, resulting in brittle pieces that are very easy to snap when applying the pressure necessary to combine them. These broken pieces can be repaired with good glue and some patience. There are several snaps that are at tricky angles or in narrow areas that made it difficult to apply the necessary pressure. There were even one or two steps where I'm glad I read ahead, because actually doing it slightly out of the recommended order gave me more leverage for some of the snaps. The printing and detail are lovely, but sometimes the decorated veneer chips off at the edges when punching out pieces from the board. The wiring instructions could have been a little more detailed (and the wiring was trickier than with other brands, like the Tonecheer book nooks). The biggest issue I had was that the channel that you build for the wiring to run through on the top was actually narrower than the width of the small electrical board containing the switch, so I had to bend pieces out and away a bit so the switch had enough room to function. (The instructions also tell you to test the electrical parts as step 1.... even though you technically are not instructed to connect the wires to the battery kit until towards the very end of the process.) I recommend testing the light in the beginning, but also after each step of the electrical assembly process, just to make sure something hasn't disrupted it while you can still reach things to make corrections. Once it's all snapped together you can technically take it apart again to make repairs, but in all honesty it will be hard, and you risk doing damage to delicate pieces (and to the veneer) if you try to disassemble things. Which makes this next point all the more important. Note that white craft glue is NOT ideal for some of the areas you need to glue for this, due to the slick printed veneer which is almost like plastic -- some of the items (such as little stacks of books) that I glued down with Aleene's Fast Grab Tacky Glue early on in the process later separated away and had to be re-glued with something stronger, because white glue has some trouble solidly bonding to the decorated/printed surfaces (with any pressure, anything glued with white glue will likely pop right off). I would recommend a stronger craft glue for these areas, like B-7000. I also added a little glue to the book cover stickers, as I don't expect sticker glue to hold up well over time, and would not want to try to get in there later to fix things. (To the reviewer who used Elmer's glue.... I sure hope nothing ever jostles your nook much, because it's not likely to go great.) All that said, the final result was extremely cute. Just plan ahead, go slow, and make sure you have the right gear. If you are a total newbie to these book nooks, consider an easier one for your first build (the Secret Garden by Tonecheer was a perfect first build for me!).

This was the first Book Nook I’ve ever done and I’m now hooked! This was so much fun to put together. The directions were very easy to understand and follow. Being a newbie, it took me about 4-5 hours to complete. The pieces fit together snugly which I had no problem managing. I didn’t need to use the included file for sanding. This kit does require minimal glueing for some steps (glue not included). I absolutely love how it turned out. It’s so exciting watching all the pieces come together in the end. I have completed 2 other kits now from this company and they all have been fantastic. I’m already waiting for another to arrive in the mail..

This was my first but definitely not my last. It is so cute and was so easy. The pieces fit together snugly , directions are in color and fantastic. I love the little battery door on the back. And the front piece of the diorama snaps on last making it easy to remove if the need should arise to adjust something inside. In my case I did not tape the light’s touch pad securely enough to the ceiling inside for it to sense my finger on top and turn on and off the light. It was a simple 10 second fix. I removed the front piece , added a piece of tape to the lights touch pad on the ceiling and snapped the front piece back on. - I will mention you need to buy your own glue with this, I just used Elmers, as it did not come with glue.

Super cute and fun! No missing pieces, and a fun craft to do while watching a movie/relaxing. Good quality, light worked, and the instructions were great. Some pieces take a little effort to fit together, but this ensures that the structure is secure, so that was worth it! Only bump I hit was totally on me because it’s in the listing and I missed it, but YOU need to provide your own glue, as well as two AAA batteries for the light. Just a heads up in case you missed that like I did! Already bought a second kit- I’m obsessed :) Please ignore the glue on the window and the bulging battery in the back…I recorded before cleaning/rearranging… this is not a product issue! 😆

this is really worth it. it was of good quality.

While this is for teens/ adults with the patience to punch out tiny balsa wood pieces carefully, it does not require high craft skill. It was fun and satisfying, taking a couple evenings to put together— maybe just one with a friend. The lighting element is very slick - it has a touch on/off which is accessible without having to flip it over or around, as i have encountered elsewhere. The end result is a lovely little addition to my bookshelf.

We loved making this booknook following the instructions. It was really fun.
