Smeg ECF02 Italian Espresso Machine – Manual 15-Bar Coffee Maker, Made in Ita...

Didn’t know how much I needed this upgrade to my coffee in the morning. Perfect introductory machine to espresso and stylistically looks great.

The machine arrived faulty. The steam button and steam handle were not working from the first use, so the steam function could not be used at all. The unit was defective out of the box and unusable. This issue was present immediately upon delivery, meaning the unit was defective out of the box. For a premium-priced product, this level of quality control is very disappointing. Requesting a full refund.

Perfect for small spaces and fits my style. The espresso is superb! Creamy, smooth and rich! I can use my favorite coffee and also have ese pod varieties.

My husband and I looked at options for a home espresso machine for months before we chose this one. We like the vintage sleek design and that it is a quality espresso machine at a mid price level. We are very particular about our espresso and have enjoyed the drinks we’ve made at home as much as our top four favorite cafés. We can make a good amount of drinks before refilling the water Reservoir. The distance between the Grupe head and the trip tray is short, so we a small ceramic cup for the shots and add them to whatever cup we’re drinking out of. The steam wand doesn’t come out from the side very far so it’s tricky finding the right angle to steam milk but we mostly drink iced lattes so it hasn’t been upsetting. The times I’ve used the steam want to make a hot latte. The taste is great and I’m working on finding the right angle with this machine to get the milk the perfect texture. I’m not sure it’ll happen but that’s OK. If you’re looking for a nice alternative to buying coffee out, this is a great option! I like it better than the Breville I had a couple years ago.

Do not buy this machine it is awful. It never works and feels like a child’s toy. For the price you pay its terrible quality. I would maybe pay $25 for this machine. It’s plastic and you can even turn the espresso in without the machine falling over. If I could get a refund I gladly would.

Adorable

Lets start with the obvious, this espresso machine looks gorgeous, the design is well thought out, however mine did not work properly. I tried troubleshooting using all the tips in the manual, but to no avail. Steamer did not steam, and machine kept overheating. I contacted Smeg directly through their email, as instructed in their manual..... never got a response, sooo disappointing, for these reasons this Machine went back.

Beautiful product, works amazingly and great customer service

I am so sad that this smeg Nespresso machine does not hold up to its value. I’ve bought all my other products which I love by Smeg but it’s the worst cup of coffee. I’ve looked on YouTube many times to figure out how to use this machine… I thought it would make a really good cappuccino. This is my fourth day. It’s a cute little machine but not worth the value for over $500.

I received a used one while I ordered a new one and I got it dirty with a different color plus no milk wand

Good tasting results but it is VERY noisy and painfully slow - God help you if you want to make espresso for 4...this is a good idea poorly executed. Also, the steamer seemed to be broken as I could not get it to work at all. I have a feeling I was sent a refurb but the packaging was new so I am not sure....I will check in with Smeg in a couple years and see what refinements they come up with. Again, good idea if done right.

Gorgeous appliance! The instructions are very easy to follow too.
