Da ich ein paar Schallplatten meiner Lieblingskünstler besitze und ich meinem alten Plattenspieler Adieu sagen musste, bin ich auf den kompakten Plattenspieler der Marke Retrospieler gestoßen. Aufgrund des begrenzten Platzes für eine größere Anlage entschied ich mich für dieses kompakte Modell.Als ich den Plattenspieler ausgepackt habe, war ich höchst begeistert: Nicht nur, dass dieser super schick aussieht, er ist auch so kompakt, sodass ich ihn super auf meiner Wohnwand platzieren konnte. Die einzelnen Teile waren sicher verpackt, sodass beim Transport nichts beschädigt werden konnte. Außerdem wurde der Plattenspieler mit einer Aufbauanleitung mitgeliefert, die man im Grunde aber nicht wirklich braucht, da sich der Aufbau sehr leicht erschließen lässt.Der Plattenspieler verfügt über drei Regler und zahlreiche Funktionen: Neben der Wiedergabe von Schallplatten kann man über die Bluetooth-Funktion auch Musik vom Handy über die mitgelieferten Boxen abspielen.Zusätzlich gibt es einen USB-Anschluss, über den man ebenfalls Musik oder Hörbücher abspielen kann. Der Modus-Wechsel erfolgt einfach über einen der Regler und ein weiterer Regler ermöglicht das Überspringen von Tracks, was praktisch ist, wenn man ein bestimmtes Lied überspringen möchte. Der dritte Regler dient zum Ein- und Ausschalten des Geräts.Das Material des Plattenspielers ist sehr hochwertig und stabil, wodurch man davon ausgehen kann, dass er eine noch sehr lange Freude bereiten wird.Dadurch dass der Plattenspieler für handelsübliche Platten doch recht klein ist, finde ich es ein schönes Gimmick, dass an der linken Seite des Plattenspielers eine Aussparung ist, die es ermöglicht seine Platten ganz normal abspielen zu lassen, ohne dass diese hängen bleiben oder gar nicht erst in das Gerät reinpassen.Die Soundqualität ist zudem sehr angenehm und ich hatte direkt Freude daran, meine Platten aufzulegen und meiner Lieblingsmusik zu lauschen. Ich kann den Plattenspieler von Retrospieler wärmstens weiterempfehlen!

I’m old school. I grew up with vinyl, and my sons were introduced to it early on. My older son received a record player years ago for Christmas, and now my younger son is very interested in it and was constantly borrowing his brother’s player. I got this for him to play in his room, and I have to say that for about $100 this is an attractive and functional unit. It looks nice with the wood grain veneer, and it’s easy to use. Sure, the sound my not have the highest clarity or range, but in a way that adds to the charm of listening to this media and any real audiophiles are familiar with the concept of upgrading your speakers. I’m fine with these for now.Other reviewers have commented on the claimed auto-stop feature, or more accurately the lack thereof. It does not have an auto return feature when the record ends, but it actually does have an auto stop feature - of sorts. We tested it out with the lid closed (more on the lid later). When the album side ends, the record does indeed keep spinning and spinning…... Until you open the lid. I even closed it again to make sure I didn’t just coincidentally time my opening of the lid with it stopping. Nope. It began spinning again. So the auto-stop feature only works with the lid open apparently.The lid itself is a bit odd. In the closed position, the back and left-hand side of the lid are actually opened and the edges of an LP (33&1/3) album extend out of these openings. The lid does not touch them, but I have never encountered a design like this before. Why not just completely enclose the spinning disk to avoid the possible mishaps that are likely to occur at some point?
