I preferred this product over my own make-shift version
This product has been extremely useful for training my dog to stop barking. She does not respond to clapping, yelling, stomping or any other action I have used to try to get her attention. The noise created by this device is so unique that it always brings my dogs attention to me immediately. If you are looking for something to get your stubborn dogs attention on you than I would highly recommend this product. The only drawback is that it is inconvenient to carry around with you at all times. It is slightly large...which can also be a good thing because when it is in sight my dog is more reluctant to start barking.I originally tried making my own knock-off version of this product with an aluminum bowl and some pennies but I found this product to be worth the money due to convenience and ease of use compared to the homemade version. If you are committed to to getting good results I would definitely recommend spending the money on this product because it will be worth it when your dog learns to listen.

Works great for one of our two rescues
We recently adopted two rescues, a 2 year old American Bully and a 5 year old French Bulldog. The 2 year old has never lived inside before and his training is starting from ground zero. He's terrible at jumping and fixating on items to destroy - a shoe, a throw pillow, etc... When we use the metal side of the Shake & Break and a firm "No!" he backs off immediately, learns that the item is off limits and leaves it alone. His jumping has greatly reduced and is only bad when he's most playful and energetic. Just carrying the Shake & Break around makes him more gentlemanly. Our 5 year old French Bulldog could care less about the Shake & Break when we use it, but he has far fewer bad habits so we're happy it works on the 2 year old!

Did not work for barking pup.
I tried this product on my 9 week old puppy when she was barking excessively. She did not respond well to the sound. It scared her at first then she started barking at it. I plan to try this when she is more mature.

Waste of my time and money
When I first read about this product it sounded like the perfect training tool to stop my dogs from barking. During the 1st use it got there attention and their barking stopped mid stream and two heads in unison turned to look at me. When I put it down the little gadget inside the shaker moved and with the next shake nothing happened other than all of us hearing a muted sound. From there on the sounds this shaker emitted was hit and miss and I regretted purchasing this item. Truth be told I could have dropped a marble in a glass bottle and at least the sound would be consistent. I had to return the item as it became more of a nuisance to me trying to get the sound right.

a quick noise to redirect the dog is a great training helper
The idea of this tool absolutely works. a quick noise to redirect the dog is a great training helper. anything that gets the point across w/o touching the dog is great. However I found the home made ones to work better. using coins in an empty soda can. the one hard shake w/the noise is enough to get the dogs attention. I had used for a prior animal and it worked great so wanted to actually buy the "real" one instead of making my own. it has two different areas: one for a louder noise and one for a softer one. What I found, though, was that the little beads just make a little shaking sound and you can hear them sprinkling w/each little bead making a noise. so you hear a bunch of little noises vs one large noise if that makes sense. I think using flat pieces of metal would be similar to the coins and make a more pronounced noise. I made my own again and that got my dogs attention much better. this one she just ran to and thought I was shaking a toy.....it was cute to watch her, though! and I still love the idea of this tool so still enjoy my home made one

Used it 4 times, my dog is cured for barking at the door ♡
I leave my TV on the Lucky Dog channel when I'm at work so my dogs listen to Brandon train dogs all day and I tune in to learn. I have 2 little Yorkie rescues and ever since I moved into my condo one of my Yorkies barks relentlessly at the door every time she hears neighbors in the hall. I got the shaker and I only used it if she runs to the door to bark. Of course I want my dogs to notify me of things they hear so the correction is strictly for her barking at the door. Now she will sit by me and watch the door and give a low growl. I always praise and thank her for telling me because did are a great first warning system to have. But Zoe was so startled by the shaker it didn't take long, only 4 times, for her to make the connection to me shaking it when she was barking at the door. This is the easiest and fastest corrected behavior I've ever seen ♡♡♡

Most effective at correcting bad behavior
This is by far the most effective solution I’ve found to stop our miniature pincher from barking andPestering us for food at dinner time and wherever there’sa delivery person at the door. Literally stopped the incessant barking after the first use, but rePetition is needed to reinforce corrective behavior. Its clanky sound, like marbles in a tin can, is enough to break the barking trance they go into. If the clanking annoys you, flip it over for a gentler marbles in a plastic cup sound. I love this and I highly recommend it to anyone with a dog that needs a behavioral adjustment.

I hoped this would was the solution but ...
It worked for 2-3 days to get my pup’s attention but now although it annoys her it doesn’t stop her from barking nor getting off the couch. It does not work for letting things go at all it only agitates her.I would have liked more information on how to use this effectively as I tried to find information but I couldn’t find anything aside from just shaking and saying Quiet ...

Funktioniert
Inzwischen stellen wir das Teil nur noch auf den Wohnzimmertisch und unser Hund bleibt vor dem Fernseher brav auf dem Teppich sitzen, statt wie früher alles, was sich im TV bewegt, auszubellen.

Works for some dogs?
We have two resue dogs; one is a medium energy boxer/pitbull mix and the other a high energy lab/catahoula mix. The lab mix is still a puppy and insane and she tries to attack this thing. We are trying to work with her on reactivity and barking and she doesn't care about this noisemaker. She barks back at it and tries to chew it. She has been a handful to say the least. Our other dog doesn't like the noise and runs away, but she doesn't have as many bad behaviours that need correcting. We are still trying to find the best methods for our high energy pup without traumatizing our other dog in the process.

negativo
No le gustó el ruido y además cambió de ser normal a agresivo y ladrar sin parar. No le gustó ni gusta el sonido que hace. No lo distrae en absoluto y solamente quiere tenerlo para romperlo.

Having 2 choices of sound good.
Unfortunately did not work on my dog. It worked a couple of times but then completely ignored it.

Very disappointed!
Unfortunately this product did not work at all for our puppy and trying to control the biting issues we were having. Instead he thinks of this as a toy and wants to play with it every time we shake it.
