Starting with the obvious, these are like most knives out there that are designed in the U.S. but made in China. This one is no exception. What I am finding out, especially with SENCUT, is that they tend to put more effort into providing a high-quality knife at an affordable price. The quality, thus far, equal or better than most other Chinese knives I've found on the market. 9Cr18MoV steel is good steel and makes for a good blade and edge. Sharpens well and holds an edge well enough for casual use. The design is workable for most people. I'd like to see a little more handle/blade length, but then again, that is not what the knife was made for. First use, it may take some working to loosen up as the lock is stiff and the opening/closing is tight. I suspect it will loosen eventually.

Absolutely fantastic knife. I own probably close to 250 pocket knives of all different brands and quality level. This is an outstanding knife for $40. Love its fit and finish, great size and super slicey hollow grind. Flips and flicks perfectly smooth. If you’re looking get it. You will not be sorry.

This may be the one! I’ve got about a 150 knives, the Majority of them Spyderco. I know their blade steel is better so don’t start. This is a very good knife, it fits my hand perfect, the blade angle allows it to open packages very easily. It came very sharp and I love the blade design. It’s a little heavier than most of my other Budget carries but it’s hard to find the perfect carry for me. This came closer than any others have.

This is one of my favorite budget knives, ever. The hollow grind makes this a great slicer! Add to that it looks great - AND - the action and finish are better than on some much higher price knives I have in my collection. In fact, Deb bought the ivory and red one for me for fathers day and she liked it so much it became hers! So we got another one.

I have over 100 folding knives with about a quarter of them over $150. This thing is better than a number of them. Just the right size, blade shape is attractive with a slicey hollow ground, caged ceramic ball bearing pivot, snappy action with great detent, multiple modes of deployment, nice G10 scales, deep carry pocket clip that you can’t even feel when holding the knife, razor sharp out of the box. What more could you ask for? The steel type is not on the blade

Straight out of the box the Sencut Hyrax came razor sharp. I was also extremely pleased with the overall fit and finish of the knife for the price it is fantastic. The dual methods of deployment (thumbstud, and flipper tab) make it a breeze to open. The one critique I have is the access to the liner lock could be better which would be easily resolved by removing a small amount from the opposing handle scale. Overall I think this is a fantastic budget knife that any knife lover will enjoy.

This knife is larger in the hand than I expected but it still easily fits in my pocket. Definitely great for larger projects, heavy duty cutting, or utility use; but the larger size might be less practical for EDC. I can't speak to the long term edge durability as I haven't had the knife long. The lock-up is solid and feels tight. I really enjoy the unique handle design. I haven't seen anything like it. All and all I'm happy with it.
