A bit tight for an 8

The shoes look lovely except for the small slits as you can see in the photos. This is when I took them out of the box. They appear in the exact same spot on both shoes.I ordered these as I am signed up to a 6 week Bootcamp but I have been having heel pain so was hoping these shoes would be ideal for a bit of arch support. The shoes themselves are lovely. Look nice and I have worn them today for two classes and for my school sports day. I still have pain but they are a comfortable enough shoe it is just a shame about the flaw in them.
